10 Relationship Status In Nigerian Universities. by Edroom: 6:07pm On Jul 04, 2016
Relationship is the way in which two or more people are connected. When talking of relationship, communication is very important. The problem facing relationship in our societies is lack of understanding. When we fail to understand the person beside us, then the problem begins.

We have different types of personalities and we also have different people with different temperaments. I will explain these temperaments before writing the relationship status in Nigeria University. We have these set of people in our communities: The Sanguine, Choleric, Phlegmatic and the Melancholy. If we fail to understand each other there will be problem and the communication we are talking about will not be effective.

· Sanguine: they are the talkative, they are chatty and openly emotional; they easily make friends even with strangers. They make their environment more lively and people enjoy being around them. Whenever they are angry, they make you know either by screaming or by shouting ‘I hate you’. They ask for forgiveness and believe it’s over.

· Choleric: they are said to be the proud ones not because they want to but because of their nature. They are leaders and directors, they seem to be in control of everything because they believe they know it all. They use imperative words like ‘go there’, ‘sit here’, they also argue a lot because they want to stick to what they know and will want other people to bend to their opinion. They are single minded in taking decision and are always independence even in career, they strive to get to the peak so as to be in command.

· Phlegmatic: they are submissive, they live their lives to please people. They easily yield to correction and accept blames. They don’t believe they know things, they would rather seek advice from other people before they do anything. They like being lonely and enjoy quit place. They are also good listeners because they pay attention to details.

· Melancholy: they are people who have standards and norms they follow, no matter what you say, they will stick to their own opinion. They are lagers to news things, they will rather choose old system of life to new ones. They are inquisitive, they want to know everything around them. They also hate borrowing people their things because they believe they can’t take care of those things. They are the type that take list to market and make sure they obey that list.

Below are the Relationship status you will find in Nigeria University:

1. Intra-Personal Relationship: this is the first relationship a student can have in Nigerian University. It is the relationship between oneself, students have to create a kind of unity within themselves. Do you hate your k-leg, and you want other people to love it. You need to love yourself, have trust in yourself that you can make exploit.

2. Inter-Personal Relationship: this is very important in normal school setting, students interact with one another to achieve a specific goal. Your need to have good relationship with other students.

3. Academic Relationship: sometimes students meet new friends because they are good in a particular course. Students tend to move closer to brilliant students for help them in their academics. This is S-R (Stimulus-Response) type of relationship.

4. Lecturer- students Relationship: this type of relationship is needed for effective teaching and communication skills. It is sad that some lecturer are sadist, they are so hard on students; they are the one who fail students in mass. They want students to fear them. Effective relationship between lecturers and students will bring the result will want.

5. Town and Gown Relationship: this type of relationship is between Indigene and students. I call this mutual relationship, the indigenes are happy being friend with a university student, while the students benefit some goodies e.g food, material from Indigenes.

6. Boyfriend – Girlfriend Relationship: this is very common in Nigerian schools, not only in higher institution but also in secondary schools. It’s always come when the two parties involved love themselves and are committed to each other.

7. Husband – wife Relationship: this type of relationship has gone beyond boyfriend –girlfriend, they are students who live as husband and wife in universities. They live in the same room and believe they are one even without marriage.

8. Brethren Relationship: this is common among religious folks in the university. They love themselves, pray together and share things together. They are found in fellowships and mosques in various campuses.

9. Family Relationship: despite the distance between parents and their children, students- parent relationship still sticks like glue. Students depend on their parents for material goods while parent seek all means to check the affairs of their children.

10. God-Man Relationship: students do understand and realize their maker, they worship him and do everything that pleases him.

Stay bless….
