[s]You remember the governor of Rivers state, Barr. Onyesom Wike was summoned to a meeting by the President sometimes in May, 2016, to the Presidential Villa where her confronted with series of Security Reports on him and its implications on the region. Wike was advised to meet with his governor colleagues in the South South but rather than taking the advise of the Mr. President to act on the report, Governor Wike went straight to the television stations, Channels TV to be precise, granting interviews and making press releases and debunking the insinuations that he and the other Niger Delta governors were behind the security threats and tensions in that region.
He actually reported the President's stands to his colleagues which the governor of Bayelsa quickly complied and warned all bent to destabilize the region to desists as a matter of urgency. That meeting with the Ondo state governor in attendance did wonder and the subsequent one of the Niger Delta governors with the Vice President when the President went on "medical vacation" in June douse down the tension which has brought the militants to only resolved to paper noise making of late.
The deployment of the Military in the region brought a serious signs that this regime is serious and ready to deal decisively with any recalcitrants governor whose state is a security threat but for the intervention of the British and American government the Niger Delta would have been smoked down by now.

Now Chief, Barr. Dr. Governor, Wike is behaving himself as he is one who now leads the security agents in his state to his boys hideouts and supervised the demolition of their camps according to The Punch Newspapers

" Meanwhile, for the second time in one week, the Rivers State Governor, Mr. Nyesom Wike, led security agencies to supervise the demolition of hideouts of notorious cult groups and kidnappers in the state."

Well Wike is learning fast to behave after seeing his colleague in crime Ayodele Fayose been warmly treated.[/s]
