Upon their all 'born to rule' mentality coupled with the fact that the northerners have more years of rule in this country, there is still abject poverty there, it shows the level of their leader's selfishness and directionless.

They will continue to suffer because the government is using blackmail and propaganda to hide the atrocities going on there.
