Are there water stations around? Stores? Or if you're in the office or somewhere where they have those 50liters bottle dispensers. I tend to drink out of the tap too lol. City water is pretty safe i think. |
Re: All About The Au Natural! by Gamine(f): 3:09pm On Oct 14, 2009 |

I like coconut oil for my body ( good 4 stretch marks too! and it makes the skin soo soft) I also do honey/milk masks ( milk has lactic acid (exfoliator) and honey is a humectant Grapeseed oil is wonderfulllll for skin and 100 percent natural cocoa butter is too which i love also avocados are great for the skin/hair you ladies should try it! i try to eat healthy and drink mainly water and green tea, i also like those odwalla smoothie drinks ( highly recommended!) |

@topic i use oatmeal and honey as a scrub, its great for my oily skin and the honey leaves my skin really soft Hair, Had a bad hair day, does any one have any new ideas on getting rid of tangles, hair in the middle and at the back of my head tangles really bad so it never grows well without half of its length breakin off really frustrated my hair is 4b infact in fact if there was a 4z it would fit |
Re: All About The Au Natural! by Gamine(f): 10:47am On Oct 19, 2009 |
Tangles will always be there, just use what you use to soften your hair anyway and run ur fingers through it. im not sure about hair types and things though i havnt seen my hair in four weeks, im almost going into panic mode oatmeal and honey, stuff i need to get asap! |
Re: All About The Au Natural! by Nobody: 5:01pm On Oct 19, 2009 |
i dont have a daily solution , the only time my hair is soft is just after i have washed and steamed it with shea butter, even then give it a couple of hours and its a stiff afro-cant run my finger through it yesterday was frustrating cos the humidity messed up my hair and i was weaving cornrows and i kept battling with tangles , i only have trouble with tangles in that area(middle and the back ) so all that breakage leaves me with long hair in front and short at the back and i've been nappy for 6 yrs about oatmeal and honey? make it into a paste not too runny and just blend it in really well massage it into your skin. good for hands and feet its not harsh so its a scrub you can use everyday i eat it too |

salsera, what kind of honey? i've seen grade a and b. |
Re: All About The Au Natural! by Nobody: 9:33pm On Oct 19, 2009 |
not sure about the grade as long as it pure honey not the mixed kind bleached kind that's sometimes sold since you abroad i suppose u could search for specific stores that sell pure honey |
Re: All About The Au Natural! by Janeesa: 12:44am On Oct 20, 2009 |
@ salsera i dey feel u o oatmeal n honey works wonders on the skin Ive also heard that lemons/strawberries are good for dark spots ( they hv vitamin c ) I can attest to the lemons workin u can mix lemons ( squeeze the juice from the lemon ) and sugar for a scrub or u can use epsom salts ( i wouldnt recommend epsom salts for the face) |
Re: All About The Au Natural! by africhika(f): 12:57am On Oct 20, 2009 |

Re: All About The Au Natural! by Gamine(f): 12:19am On Jan 03, 2010 |
Omg, Sorry i couldnt be on here fast enough, @Salsera, i hope you got what you wanted Happy New year guys. One of my new year resolutions is to stay on the Natural tip, infact ive ordered a bunch of natural stuff for body and hair I didnt achieve the growth i wanted for my hair last year, due to major neglect and so many other issues. One of the new product i've found is Shikakai for the hair Its from the Indians, and i have only heard good things about it. @Africhika, how are your locs, im 80% sure i want to loc now, plus i am so attracted to 'loc-ed' guys i dont know what to do.lol |
Re: All About The Au Natural! by oyinda3(f): 12:32am On Jan 03, 2010 |
gamine, why do u put your address out there like that. dats inviting all kinds of ppl u kno salsera: you should be doing more protective styling. twists, braids etc. for tangles, i will say patience and preventive care. ie don't leave ur hair out for too long. braid it up eventually and for products, you don't need to search far and wide for some sort of holy grail. lol the Cantu you're looking for might eventually just end up laying in your cabinet |
Re: All About The Au Natural! by Gamine(f): 2:03am On Jan 03, 2010 |
@Oyinda Nah, dont bother about that, the address is from a book, people who have read it will understand I reckon Cantu is a brand of shea butter, i have to say, nothing like the pure one though. i should be putting my hair up in long twists this week, i need to start the new year, well! |

Re: All About The Au Natural! by bluespice(f): 3:31am On Jan 04, 2010 |
folly pls don't cut your hair! you can braid it like you've been doing, or you could get it locked. Note that the first few months of locking your hair wouldn't be all gravy |
