Joomla is a favourite software at Todhost. We have built hundreds of websites with Joomla and despite publications on the future of Joomla which were not so palatable, we have always insisted on Joomla and still stick to Joomla. However, we are beginning to do a re-think on wether to switch from Jommla to WordPress or not and here are the reasons why we are considering a switch from Joomla.

Many persons have very strong opinion about Joomla. It is their opinion but the points made here need to be strongly considered. It does not suggest that the end of Joomla is coming and it is not a call to switch your CMS. It is only a warning sign for you to consider and watch closely to how the Joomla community will respond to all the issues and save the script from its declining trend.

Is Joomla Really Dying

Joomla is certainly not doing well. Despite the celebrations of Joomla’s tenth year, the fact point to a decline in searches for Joomla on Google. The users of Joomla are certainly dwindling.

What’s Responsible for tis Downward Trend?

When compared to WordPress, Joomla is a much more powerful CMS in several ways. It also its weaknesses relative to WordPress.

But Joomla’s future is shaky and here are the reasons Joomla is not doing so well.

1: Joomla is run by committees with no strong decision maker.

Companies have CEOs for a reason. They need one person who can make decisions—difficult decisions for which they take full responsibility. Joomla doesn’t have one. It’s run by committees.
