For over 2 hours now, there has been a massive protest in Egor Local Government Area of Edo State. The workers have blocked the majors roads in Egor LGA over 17 months unpaid salaries by the State Government. The State Governor, Comrade Adams Oshiomole promised them something ago that their salaries will be made available but up till now, no move has been made. At the moment, the area is still very loud and rowdy. See photos from the protest below:-

Saying they are paying salary in Edo state is a big lie, it's only state workers that are been paid not local government workers, which is directly under the control of the state government

Imagine State Government owing Local Government workers. One day the Federal Government should also "swallow" State governments the way they have swallowed local governments

It is sad that PDP wants to turn this Local Government Salaries matter into their election talking point.

Let them continue, POI is going to win for sure, the state is handed over to its former masters and professional politicians. The Anenihs and Igbis are happy again, everyone is happy. The massive strides made in IGR will be thrown into the water, the fact that Edo State is not owing workers salaries will become a thing of the past, Edo State will now have a money sharing formula again, the money will move around. The economic development and attraction will be out on hold, everyone is happy... the masses are happy, the politicians are happy...

Pastor Ize-Iyamu for Governor

It is POI we want!!!!!

May I ask, WHAT WAS THAT NOISE ABOUT
SIGNING OF 2016 BUDGET FOR?.
I ask again, what has changed since after the
signing of that Budget?
And to the Buharist: name one thing Buhari has
done since he came to power with baggage of
promises? Except fight corruption on pages of newspaper

Anyone taking over from Osho has to face the facts that revenue from oil is falling....and it is either you cut down the number of staff or you cut their salaries to save costs.

Also....the new governor has to be creative in raising revenue for his state.....oil is not the revenue earner it used to be. Investing in the state's industries and agric could provide extra revenue. And raising taxes.

Same goes for LG chairmen and women.
