he Anglican Communion h‎as dedicated a church to honour in memory of the late Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Samuel Odulana.

Oba Odulana died on February 4, 2016 at the age of 101.

The church named ‘Oba Samuel Odulana Memorial Anglican Church’ was donated by Ibadan business tycoon, Asiwaju Bode Amao and his wife, Chief (Mrs.) Amoke Amao.

The church is located right opposite the grave site of the late monarch at Igbo-Elerin, Ibadan, Oyo State capital.

Dedicating the church building, the Diocesan Bishop, Ibadan North Diocese, Rev Segun Okubadejo said the Amaos have brought the fruit of church planting to show their love for God and Oba Odulana.

“This shows that the Amaos are fulfilling scriptures. When you are fruitful, God purifies you and put ‎you in position of authority.

“We are very grateful to the donor for encouraging us to propagate the gospel of Christ in the rural communities.

“This is the 10th of its kind he is donating to churches.” he said

Okubadejo urged other well- meaning Nigerians to emulate the kind gesture of the industrialist and support the gospel of Christ.

Eldest son of the late monarch, Prof Femi Lana thanked the business tycoon for completing the wish of their father.

“Our late father’s wish was to be buried around church premises. We wanted to bury him at Anglican Church Aremo but inside h‎is will he stated that he wants to be buried in his village but there was no church there.

“But now Asiwaju Amao has completed his wishes. We shall all forever be grateful,” he said.
