It was a clash of Titans at the St Dennis stadium in France, as two great country locked horns to decide who were indeed the king of Europe. France came into the game as favorites due to their recent run of form which included defeating World Champions Germany. Portugal on the other hand were there through divine providence winning just one match out of the last six. But France the good team was playing a team with Divine providence. English referee Mark Clattenburg was in charge at St Dennis a game he refered well with calmness and experience, the chances came Griezman, Gignac, Sissoko but it wasnt their day...And came the unlikely hero Eder he won the first major trophy for Portugal he was the man of the moment. And so ends the night Cristiano Ronaldo did it at last as assistant coach though (lol). And at last he lifted a major trophy for Portugal after so long a year. I draw my title from Nelson Mandela's book "Long walk to freedom" but for Portugal its long walk to victory..Portugal goes home breaking the jinx of France winning every competition they hosted, jinx are meant to be broken though....And so ends the European Championships...
