NIGERIA @ 49:
Come October 1, 2009. This GIANT OF AFRICA will celebrate forty nine years of independence.
At present the country is face with different types of crises. The education sector is in decay; the banking sector is not on a good side; Information technology in this country is substandard; unemployment is on rampage; Niger Delta crises has led to rapid drop in oil production and has thus, negatively affected the nation's economy; Boko Haram crisis calls for concern as hundreds of people continually lose their lives; the super eagles seem to have no hope of taking the nation to the 2010 world cup; power sector is in disarray.
As we count down to the forty ninth year of Nigeria's independence, the question is:
HOW FAR HAVE WE GONE?
WHAT HAVE WE ACHIEVED?
ARE WE TRULY INDEPENDENT?
WHAT ARE THE CHALLENGES WE ARE FACING?
ARE THERE SOLUTIONS TO THEM? And
WHAT IS THE WAY FORWARD?
