welcome Naomi.
it was my first time visiting Ijero last month. beautiful and ancient town with an interesting undulating landscape. Please remind me not to go back there without a cardigan. That place is chilling cold. mobile network in Ijero isn't fair. could be due to the undulating landscape.

Nice thread! smiley

Ekiti has an awesome hilly geography
which if well harnessed will bring in foreign
exchange from tourism. I've been to Ikogosi
Warm Springs Resort in Ekiti West LGA.

Ekiti State also has very successful and
upwardly mobile guys in the Diaspora [Lagos,
Ibadan, PH, U.K., Canada, U.S. and
you would never know until you are told they
come from Ekiti via especially the paternal
lineage. Some that I have met have never been to the State. But at least Ikere-Ekiti gave us Sade Adu
who has won multiple Grammy Awards since 1985, which
is something to be proud of!

Lanre Olusola [whose family name was
originally Kupoluyi. Lanre Olusola is a
very intelligent and popular financial trainer and lifecoach] is also originally from Usi-Ekiti
[His father was a Senior Financial Comptroller with Dunlop in Lagos and he passed on in the first Nigerian commercial passenger plane crash in 1969 while flying into Lagos from London].

Some citizens in the civil service state
can do with more financial education to rise
above the subsistence living which I saw in
some places in the state and duly amplified by
the recourse to using their land for mass
Indian Hemp production which has to stop
in favour of proper agribusiness value-chain
ventures.
