The names lionel messi and cristiano ronaldo shouldnt be alien to you.Just incase you dont know,they are footballers who has made their marks in modern day football.Messi has won the coveted ballon-dor 5 times with 4 times on a row while ronaldo has won it thrice.Before now,i have always wondered how this players would end their international careers.
The answers came of recent,Messi would come out of retirement after serving his jail or should i say probation term to win the world cup,in the absence of Higuain. Ronaldo on the other hand has won the only trophy he would ever win for portugal the euro 2016..
Prior to the mundial in Russia,ronaldo would be in top form and firing from all cylinders but messi would be woeful by his standard.The expectation from Ronaldo to shine at the world cup world be short lived since portugal would be eliminated early in the competition and as expected his performances would be below par.Argentina would go all the way to the final having strings of sheer luck and hardwork.Messi would finally lift the worldcup to the amazement of the world few days later,he would drop the bombshell that he his retiring from international football......
