The Marriage Counsellor, Frank Adofoli from Ghana, wrote an interesting piece stating why husbands need girlfriends.

Below what he wrote:

Yes, every husband needs a girlfriend, not another woman but the girl part of the wife he once fell in love with.

You may buy a new lock made of steel, with its keys. The key doesn’t spoil the lock nor vice versa but over the years, the environment and factors such as dirt, rain, change in weather, etc may cause the lock to rust. So its important to oil and maintain it.

A similar fate occurs in our relationships. You get married to that young, fun, adventurous girlfriend. As time goes on, most ladies assume that once they earn the title of a wife, no more work is required. It even gets worse when she starts bearing children.

That thought is a lie, Marriage is work dear. You will need to work on your marriage. Remember the things he first fell in love with, things about you that captured his heart and attracted him like a magnet; what did this man see in you?

Are you still doing those things, how is the fun in the marriage? What is he complaining about? Do you see him chatting with other ladies, trying to look elsewhere? It’s time to work on yourself. Your husband is wrong to look elsewhere, and you have the power to keep him home.

Exercise regularly, lose the excess weight and eat healthy. Inside beauty is not enough, external beauty is important, maintain what God gave you. Don’t let marriage makes you look older than your age.

Dirt and uncleanliness is a common killer of intimacy in marriage. Some wives are too lazy to keep their surroundings organized and clean.

The presence of children in your marriage should not kill your

ABSOUTE NONSENSE!!!!! marriage counsellor my foot yeah...

the girl part of the woman he fell in love turned into a WIFE, thats the whole deal about marriage, duh! well, since the boy wifey fell in love with turned into a husband, can she also get a boyfriend?!

You may buy a new lock made of steel, with its keys. The key doesn’t spoil the lock nor vice versa but over the years, the environment and factors such as dirt, rain, change in weather, etc may cause the lock to rust. So its important to oil and maintain it.

and what does the above gibberish got to do with husband and wife?!

A similar fate occurs in our relationships. You get married to that young, fun, adventurous girlfriend. As time goes on, most ladies assume that once they earn the title of a wife, no more work is required. It even gets worse when she starts bearing children.

very true, but such issue is exactly the same with men getting POTBELLIES. should that be a reason for women to get a boyfriend? COMMUNICATION is the key here, nothing else

That thought is a lie, Marriage is work dear. You will need to work on your marriage. Remember the things he first fell in love with, things about you that captured his heart and attracted him like a magnet; what did this man see in you?

of course marriage is hard work, FOR BOTH PARTNERS! open your mind!

Are you still doing those things, how is the fun in the marriage? What is he complaining about? Do you see him chatting with other ladies, trying to look elsewhere? It’s time to work on yourself. Your husband is wrong to look elsewhere, and you have the power to keep him home.

and how does getting a GF solves any of the above?! will it make wifey act better? will it bring back "fun" in the union? if a man wants to cheat then there is very little a woman can do, because HE is the problem. HE should communicate with wifey, HE should let her know that something is wrong, HE should help their union etc. if that deluded man simply goes and cheat (hoping that his wife reads his mind to discover there is an issue) then there is NOTHING to fix here.

Exercise regularly, lose the excess weight and eat healthy. Inside beauty is not enough, external beauty is important, maintain what God gave you. Don’t let marriage makes you look older than your age.

yes it is important but if husband isnt working by/with wifey then its a waste of energy.

Dirt and uncleanliness is a common killer of intimacy in marriage. Some wives are too lazy to keep their surroundings organized and clean.

ARRANT NONSENSE!!!! i have never heard of a marriage being great for years and suddenly, due to cleanliness, they have marital issue. get real! btw: how difficult would it be to hire a househelp OR, better yet, for husband to clean sometimes?
