How to remotely access your PC using Chrome Remote Desktop

You’ll first of all need to download and install Google Chrome browser on your PC if you don’t already have it. Then go to the Chrome Web Store and install Chrome Remote Desktop.

After it has been installed, open it, log in with your Google account and grant it the required permissions.

On the next screen, click on Get started under My Computers and hit the Enable Remote Connections button.





You will then get a pop-up message that Chrome is downloading the Chrome Remote Desktop Host Installer (a .msi file for Windows or a .dmg file for Mac). After it has been downloaded, you’ll need to run it before you can continue with the setup.



Once it has been installed, you will be prompted to provide a PIN of at least six digits after which remote connections will be enabled.



Now pick up your phone or tablet, go to Google Play Store or Apple App Store and download Chrome Remote Desktop.

Launch the app, login with your Google account, click on your computer’s name and enter the PIN code.



And that’s it! You can now remotely access your PC from your phone or tablet. It’s that easy to configure. To be able to access your PC from anywhere and at anytime, you need to make sure your PC is turned on and connected to the internet.

You can use the same device to control multiple computers. All you have to do is install and configure Chrome Remote Desktop on each computer you want to control from your mobile device.
