I understand he was once a Senator of the FRN and a former Governor of Lagos State. However, he isn't the only one to have occupied such positions. Jonathan was a Governor and was also a president. Yet, he is not as powerful as Tinubu. Since Jonathan left office, he rarely makes the news headline. Ahmed Tinubu controls today senate despite not holding a political office. This is evident by the way he unsettles the Senate President and his Vice(na Melaye say na him dey on top of their matter o). Anyone knows the reason behind Tinubu's power? |

If I'm authorized to comment. I think the supremacy power came when he was the only opposition gov under obj.. he stood with the party Action Congress during their trying times. He singlehandedly formed Action congress of Nigeria. And he got all the state in the south west left with only ondo state then. But he use his power to support mimiko during the tribunal case thinking he will decamp and join ACN. And the man keeps growing from there. |

Because Lagos has been the successful one party state and also he chooses every tom, nick and Harry that rules in Lagos state. He acts as a godfather to them all. Wait till another party takes over Lagos, his wings will be chopped to size |

Dear Op, Tinubu is powerful because he believes in the greatness, development and the entrenchment of democratic tenets in this country. No politician alive has paid so much price for the survival of democracy in Nigeria like Tinubu. Tinubu is just like Jack Bauer in the American TV series, 24. Whatever struggle he engages in is not personal but to liberate his people: Nigerians. He is the most detribalized, consistent, clear thought, progressive and foresighted Nigerian politician alive today. God bless Jagaban. 2 Likes |
