Come to think of it, u see images showing the milky way galaxy and I come to ask myself, how did these people even go out that far to take a pic of the Milky way galaxy? Do they even know if it looks like a milky way shape?

Imagine how many billion billion billion infact, gazillion light years to get out of the Milky way galaxy.

Why is it even called a milky way galaxy in the first place?

The highest Space astrounauts have gone may be Mars or Jupiter but mehn, why the deceit? grin

Cutehector:
From space na. At least dat one can be seen.
So humans have been to space in 1850?

Anyways, there are space exploring satelites equipped with special telescopes and stuff that nasa is using to take most of these pictures and it has gone really far, though still within our galaxy.

Parallax observations/calculations and the plotting of the movement of all the stars in the milky way enabled the knowledge of how it should look like.

For lay people, it's just like using your observation from the top of a hill to draw a map... only backwards.

The Earth is your hill, and the stars are way points you keep track of and register their locations and movement, along with the interaction amongst themselves accounted by by gravity...

Plot your values in a 3d rendering system and you end up with a 3d galaxy view.

There is no real picture of the earth or any planet or stars or galaxies or black holes, it is all CGI computer generated Imagery. No man or any spacecraft has ever been out of earth's atmosphere. If they argue, ask about van Allen radiation belt. Even NASA agents admit they can't pass through it. How did they get signal from the so called Juno on Jupiter? Is there another camera there capturing Juno?
