There is mass poverty in the black continent because of many unused brains.

This was the submission of founder and chancellor, Landmark University, Omu Aran, Kwara state, Bishop David Oyedepo.

He said many Africans are poor because they simply refuse to use the brains to think out solution.

Bishop Oyedepo spoke at the third convocation ceremony of the agric-oriented university in Omuaran at the weekend.

He noted that what African nations needed for sustainable growth and development is a generation of indigenous solutions, particularly in field of agriculture.

The faith preacher appealed to Africans not to allow western education destroy native intelligence they were divinely endowed with.

He stressed that African forefathers started farming, identification of edible plants and crops before the coming of colonialists.

He said knowledge is the new currency of the world, adding that application of knowledge would bring about desired changes in the society.

“Human beings are created with equal capacity. They are created with equal brain cells and body system for men and women, equal destiny nd equal opportunities,” he said.

He also said that there are unlimited opportunities yet untapped in the society, charging young generation to arm themselves with required skills to effect meaningful changes in the society.

The chancellor charged graduates to be creative, identify opportunities begging for utilisation, advising that they should think possibilities, think spirituality, think positivity, think solution to problems, and think others, saying only those that think others become leaders.

He also said that they should think impact, think footprints, think future and to think culture.

I concur but not totally. This is the 21st century, we definitely need advance knowledge and technology, that is the western education in order for this country to grow. We are meant to be moving forward not backward. Look at how the western education developed the western countries. We should learn from them.

I am a bit confused. Does this mean we should stop praying for devine breakthrough and start applying our brains to problem solving?

In this era of "Change" and Economic Recession, where Banks and corporate organizations are continuosly downsizing while MORE graduates are still graduating in hope that they secure a well-paid job.
If you are still searching to be employed, you are at big risk, its a 20% chance!
Also, if you are proud and satisfied by your current salary, you are a big joker (apologies for the statement) because the over 3000 Banks staff laid off did not get replacement.

But I will advise that you seek to be SELF EMPLOYED and PART-TIME employed by others so the coming recession predicted will not meet you in shock- Oh, I had known...
