Thank God no life was lost through ''accidental discharge''. Cos I trust their ingenuity when they commit culpable homicide. They for just keep one blood-stained bucket near the victim and make such announcement.

Our able and galant men just hunted down a notorious robber who specialize in attacking unsuspecting victims with acid inside bucket.
Suspect was engaged by our team as a result of a tip off and sustained fatal injuries while on the act.

You got it real wrong 100%!

Maybe you forget so soon the story of a Police officer who told Nigerians some few years back that he went into robbery so that he will not suffer during his retirement.

Or have you forgotten the story of Tafa Balogun, the Inspector General of Police during Obasanjo presidency. Remember that what ruined him was that he sent one of his boys to collect a heavy amount for him from someone. The person he sent was given some money as 'dash' as the errand boy, after the man delivered Tafa's heavy amount of money to him, he was also honest enough to inform Tafa that the man also 'dash' him money, Tafa threw decency to the winds and collected the 'dash' from his errand boy. This was what provoked the erand boy to expose Tafa's corrupt practices which made him to be disgraced out of office.

The truth therefore is that the Nigerian Police need a total reorientation. Something is seriously wrong with the recruitment process, their training (cast your mind back to Channels TV documentary of their Training college in Lagos) and those training them

Lastly Obasanjo said it clearly during his presidency that Armed Robbers are being recruited into the Police Force.

It is therefore not the question of their pay, but their greedy way. That is what will make Policemen fight for bucket and other gifts at a birthday party. Shame! Shame! Shame!

The Acting Inspector General should identify and sanction these disgraceful Policemen.

Ayi Kwei Armah said "Africans are in great haste to consume things we have taken neither care nor trouble to produce".

And he also said "Look well at all the people needing to have things to set them above people. Position, power, cars, houses, money. If they lost those things they would get sick with their own emptiness"

This has nothing to do with not being paid well. The problem is that many Nigerians believe in free things and they refuse to know the difference between greed and material poverty. What is the price of this bucket that the least paid policeman in need can not afford? Do you see how people strugle for programs and useless plastic fans at social events? You will be amazed watching Nigerians battling for fried rice, Five Alive, Eva, Pencils etc at parties. Many in the picture above can afford what they are fighting for but they are possessed by the spirit of greed. Shikina!

This comment of yours is an apt example of crass irrationality. 'the Blackman cannot manufacture even pencil...'

When your fathers were contesting their nationality with Nigeria, they probably bought everything from the white.

Oponu!

I'm surprised that 72 people reason the way you do.
