It was a painful sight yesterday, when a mother of two children, aged three and five, who died in a morning fire at 7, Ifelodun Close, Aralamo Bus Stop, Ajasa Command area of Lagos state, was being consoled by friends and family members and loved ones. The cause of the fire that consumed the bungalow of 3 rooms could not be ascertained.

The residents were reportedly fast asleep when the fire started. It attracted sympathizers, who made efforts to put it out the fire. It was gathered that fire fighters were not called in on time. When they eventually arrived at the scene, the victims were recovered dead, with their mother wailing.

The Director of Lagos State Fire Service, Razak Fadipe, confirmed the development to newsmen, said the fire was well alight when his men arrived the scene.
