Here's a short tutorial how to boost your CPU performance without overclocking. Note: 1. I've used synthetic benchmarks so real-world situations may not have the same scaling. 2. My CPU is an Intel CPU with hyperthreading(HT), this may not work for AMD CPU and/or Intel CPU's without HT 3. I noticed a jump in idling and load temperatures so have adequate cooling in place as doing this may cause your CPU to thermal throttle resulting in a decrease in performance. 4. For my CPU, whilst the single core performance didn't see a a significant improvement, multi-core performance did. 5. Follow the steps and you shouldn't have any issue, deviate and you might end up with a non-working OS. Results from my Asus Laptop , i3 2365M, 1.4Ghz. 2C/4T Geekbench Before: Single core 1007, Multi core 1849. After Single core 1076, Multi core 2283 [6.8% and 112% up] UserBenchMark Before: Single-25.9pts; Quad-65.2pts;Multi-77.9pts After: Single-33.3pts, Quad-92.9pts; Multi- 92.9pts [29%, 42%, 19% up] 3dMark(cloud-gate) Before: Overall 1150 (GPU 1151, CPU 1148) After: overall 1162 (GPU - 1164, CPU 1158) [Overall 10%; GPU-11%, CPU-0.8%] Tutorial notes - https://drive.google.com/open?id=0B5gP1lXvmMe5SkdRT0o0SzNlV1U Screen Shots - https://drive.google.com/open?id=0B5gP1lXvmMe5UWRzYmhEaGoxNzA Video tutorial is being uploaded, 'twill take a while to update...I'll post when that's available. |

This must be done very carefully and to the letter. Boards & CPUs are likely to fry & get burnt up if not well managed. |

chachanga:Na to buy fire extinguisher just in case lol. Anyway, motherboard and CPUs usually have an operating limit so knowing what the maximum operating temperature allowed for the CPU will be a bonus. Intel info can be found at http://ark.intel.com/m/ Search for your processor to show limit. |
