Jay-z did 467k in his first week on the chats, that is very good numbers. But i just have a problem with jay-z albums, i just can't listen from start to finish. I sleep off must of the time, or i just get bored. It's probably because he isn't that deep with the lyrics, he keeps talking about money, and drinks, and jewelry, stuff like that. And when he talks about life, he is talking about his own life, that can get boring after you've heard it a couple of times before.
Apart from his first album, and maybe blueprint 1, i can't really listen to a jay album from start to finish.
When you listen to albums from rappers like nas and tupac (God bless his soul), you actually stand to gain something, unlike any of jay's albums. Another good jay album was kingdom come, it had some nice themes, but the rest,

DON'T HATE ON MY OPINION. YOU SHOULD ACTUALLY GIVE IT A DEEP THOUGHT.
Re: Jay-z Did First Week In His First Week, But: by chiogo(f): 8:32pm On Sep 16, 2009
LOL, it's not by force to listen. Okay seriously, I haven't seen an album without a couple boring songs here and there. This is why I don't do albums, waste of money when you'll probably not like/listen to all the songs. I rather pick individual songs I fancy. And what's wrong with talking about one's life? You don't expect him to talk about the lives of others, does that make sense? you can only speak for yourself. If I was a rapper too, it'd be based on my life experiences, that's what makes it believable.

I hear ya on the Nas and Pac thing - being deep and whatnot but that gets boring sometimes esp. with Nas. Still love him though but I like Jigga's songs because of the delivery actually. He doesn't 'try' to be deep, he just raps about his life and if his life is all about cars, jewelry, etc then so be it. If I want inspiration, I have my bible, my folks, and everyday experiences for that. Definitely do not depend on rap music or any music for inspiration. It's purely entertainment for me. tongue Jay-z can be 'deep' too. 'Lost one' and 'Beach chair' were deep in my opinion. As for BP III, haven't even listened to half the songs but then I didn't get the album. I'm getting the songs individually as I hear one I fancy.

There's hardly any album that is 100% appealing to everyone but i think bp3 is a classic.''Forever young'' is a kind of dream we humans all have. That song alone is unforgettable.''I'm Already Home''.

Amaru is a Legend. You can listen to that Nucca all day long and not get tired.

Jigga's new album is excellent. As soon as u hear the first track u know its jay. His usual swagger, beats, timing of lyrics et al are all present for the world to see. Top Notch I say cool.

Thank you for all the comments, i think you have answered some part of my question.

@chigo
I guessed you would be the first to comment, being that i was talking about jigga. I guess i can't expect everybody to think, or have the same mindset as i do. But you really said some wise words in your comment.

You guys should check out my blog kaysrapzone..com

Thanks once again.

Yeah, and when i say jay keeps talking about his life, what i am trying to say is that; i already know he is rich, i know he is the richest in hiphop, i know he has the number one girl in r&b married to him, i know he and obama eat together in the white house, blah blah, Be creative and tell me stories, educate me a lil, tell me about the lesson's of life, moreover, tell me how to get the kind of money you have. If you tell me that your last year cashmere is every other person's next year's cashmere, then i feel you are just trying to oppress me.
What i am trying to say is, he does not have timeless music, if you know what that means.
Anyway, jay is top 5 greatest dead or alive, and every other rapper wants to be like him, because he is so successful.
And i respects his catalogue. He has hits as long as a school bus, "can't knock the hustle", "sunshine", "hard knock life", "jigga what", "jigga, my nigga", "money ain't a thing", "money, cash, hoes", "big pimping", "parking lot pimping", "give it to me", "hizzo", "girls girls girls", "song cry", "excuse me miss", "hey papi", "encore", "dirt of your shoulder"(one of my all time favorites), "99 problems", "roc boys" , the list is endless,

hey dude errybody has an opinion to wut appeals to him or her. As far I'm concerned, I have never heard any Jay-z album dat left me sleepy half way or bored, and i mean NEVER. Apart from the regular jay u hear on radio, if want a conceptaul song from him, listen to songs like, "Meet the parents' and 'A ballad for a fallen Soldier 'in the Curse of blueprint 2. Also songs like 'Allure' and '1st song' from black album. Even tracks like "running" with bilal (a soul singer dat did a joint wiv common on a premo track) in American gangster. in short the list goes on and on. Jay-z has d realest lyrics ever and the best approach to song makin whether writin or off his head. period!!
Re: Jay-z Did First Week In His First Week, But: by aieromon(m): 11:58am On Sep 17, 2009
Talk 'bout inspiration,it depends on what form you wanna tap into.here you have a guy that dropped his first album @ the age of 26 and his eleventh @ the age of 39,and still has mass appeal from people old enough to be his kids.he made it from zero to hero and i've been tappin' into this energy since HKL Vol. 2.
I don't need Jigga to tell me how to make it to heaven and how to fight the devil.his life shows how careful plannin' and determination can put you ontop of the world.it doesnt matter to me if he repeats it throughout the album.I love what am hearin' n am modifyin' it to suit my condition/position in life.

gat a friend who would swear and curse at the very mention of jigga's name, but truly jay ain't the type of rapper you chill and listen to,so boring like hell and lyrics so bubble gum at times that i start wondering whats up with all this dudes felling him,he's a hustler fine, but i don't count marrying beyonce as shit, dude gat swagga, but he's no where near escobar ever in the rap game,no lessons from moost of his tracsk, and most of his lyrics smtimes are shit i can't relate to thats why he gat more females fans than t-pain and peeps still say he's the best from b.k what d Bleep
Re: Jay-z Did First Week In His First Week, But: by ritchboy(m): 11:11pm On Sep 28, 2009
wow, theres a whole shit load of bollocks on this thread!

do you fools, listen to music or do you just skip through it?

run this town is prolly the worst song on the album. . . thats how good it is

given the amount of shitty albums released in recent times, u would be very foolish not to get this album.

Damn, you too?? LOL na wa. anywayz, one man's meat. . . I think "run this town" was pretty self-explanatory. That's even my favorite from the album. seriously. Maybe I enjoy "bubble-gum" music like y'all call it but really, I liked his delivery and all. If anything, Kanye's part was the boring one. grin

@the other person, I don't really think he has more female fans. undecided and if he does, what's wrong with that? it's even better at least, we can relate. tongue

^^ Hmm, that's interesting stuff. Yeah, I noticed where he said he was a mason.
From what I heard about the masonry thingy, I don't exactly admire the so-called "organization".

I'm ready to stop listening to jigga for something like that, if it's true anyway.
But we all know rappers in general tend to over-stretch things, all in a bid to seem 'gangsta'. Jigga in particular, has always been known to be cocky.
so somehow, his lyrics don't surprise me. In the song 'Ain't I' (I think), he said something like "I ain't God but I was made in his mold". Can't tell if that was meant to be a comparison of himself to God.

And going by his favorite stage name "Hova" also J-hova literally translates to J-hova = Jehovah as in God.
I don't know if it's just him being cocky as usual.

Again, in "Dirt off your shoulder", he said "middle finger to the Lord" or something like that. sometimes, I just suppose he said, "middle finger to the law".

I heard about the Freemason thing last year, kinda strange if you ask me. never knew such thing existed. Anyway, I'm still doing my research, definitely not one to listen to devil-worshipers or whatever masons serve.  undecided

chiogo,i am happy u taking note to his lyrics like i am doing, look at the transformation of beyonce, rihanna and kanye west, who were all low and calm pple before they got associated to jayz, ui would know they all change drammatically, like good girl gone bad rihanna, sasha fierce of beyonce and recently some lyrics and form of dressing of kanye west, its sickening and if u need more links to help u do more of ur research, i mite as well help u, but be ready to be shocked by ur own discovery cos u mite as well get to know that pope is also a member of illuminati and why they killed artist like micheal jackson and tupac cos they spoke against the system.

i dont want to derail this thread with the topic of illuminati but if u wanna know more about them,i am ready to help and mite as well give yu some clue about how the taylor swift, kanye west thing was staged so as to inititate on that same day, if u watch the show u will see them offering prayer to the devil.

Ah, this one is beyond me oo. It take style funny sha grin
Haba, they killed Michael Jackson and Tupac? Are you saying that M.J.'s doctor was a member too? Is that why s(he) gave him an overdose?

I don't know what caused Tupac's death but I doubt it has to do with Freemason. I wanna see more evidence you got. Hopefully, I'll have time for this "research" when I'm not doing school ones. lol

The topic is changing. It's all good, i'm learning a lot.
And all those jay fans that keep quoting jay by saying 'do u listen to rap or just skim thru it', jay was actually talking to u guys, becos u dont even know what ur favorite rapper be talking about.
@CHIOGO.
How can u say kanye's part in run this town was boring, he actually had deeper lyrics that jay on that song, he was actually making sense and saying something n not bragging saying he is ceasar, like jay. JAY had a good delivery and that's that.

I didn't say Kanye's lyrics didn't make sense. The delivery was a bit boring. Two different things, buddy. I think he shoulda done his thing earlier in the song. His delivery kinda slowed down the "flow" of the song. But hey, he was iight before they chop my head off. tongue

Please get your facts right!
Jay-Z Empire State of Mind
If Jeezy's payin' Lebron,i'm payin' Dwayne Wade
He made reference to these basketballers for two reasons
1.They are best of friends yet bitter rivals on the game court.
2.Young Jeezy released a song titled ''Kobe/Lebron'' where he chose Lebron James over Kobe Bryant.check out the lyrics here-
http://lyrics.url.com/show/5243/young-jeezy/24-23-kobe-lebron-lyrics
NBA buffs argue over who's the best between Lebron and Dwayne.
Do you listen to Jay's music or do you just skip through it?
Don't even get me started on that freemason crap angry
