Yahoo was one of the few companies that took the centre stage in the early days of internet, the company went on to expose people to the world of mailing, then later introduced it's yahoo messenger which was also part of the pioneering messaging tool.

The company further expanded and introduce other services such as the Yahoo search, flickr, Tumblr and grew so big that it was worth $125 Billion making Yahoo one of the most valued companies at that time. Then came Google, YouTube and Facebook which brought about huge competition for Yahoo and the company couldn’t hold firm its grip as the pioneer company.

The news is that Yahoo is up for sale and will be sold to Verizon for a meagre amount of $5 Billion in a deal which was concluded today. The deal includes Verizon being in charge of Yahoo’s core internet business as well as its land holdings. Yahoo will also join forces with Verizon owned AOL. Yahoo has something to smile about as the company will maintain its stake in Ali Baba and its rights in the famous Yahoo Japan.
