Every year, for the past 16 years, the winner of the Spelling Bee Competition for secondary schools in Lagos State is given the opportunity to act as the state governor for a day. He has a 6-man cabinet.

Before you jump up, just know the "governor" is not allowed to sign cheques and to make critical decisions. It is just ceremonial.

What if the same gesture was extended to a Nigerian every year to occupy the presidential office for a day? This time around, he'll have full powers.

You go see men dey hussle to collect the prize.


What if me sef win am. I go happy die, like this

The dance I will put up will be unprecedented, like this

I'll go pack my luggage sharp sharp, as I wait for the plane that will convey me to the Presidential Villa.

Then, I'll start reharsing for my presidential role.

I'll immediately convene my six-man cabinet and we'll start our pre-inauguration meeting on the plane.

This is how I slap the "cabinet member" who makes such a silly suggestion.

This is how we run into Aso Villa before they change their mind

And make our way to the presidential office like this

This is how we congratulate ourselves for making it to Nigeria's top job

And finally settle down to tackle the country's problems headlong.

I just realize the problems are too much. I'm even about to give up.

Oh!! I almost forgot. Before today, I've been unemployed for three solid years.

It is time to set things right.

I immediately increase the number of Federal civil servants and direct the state governors to do the same.

How can we finish running the affairs of the country for a day and go back to our unemployment status.

God Forbid!

We finally triple the national minimum wage, create five million jobs all over Nigeria and issue "irreversible" appointment letters same day.

We also mandate banks and the private sector to triple their workforce or have their licenses revoked.

Even as we dole out grants and financial assistance to startups and entrepreneurs.

It's finally lunch time at the villa. This is how I eat the food. Opportunity of a lifetime.

The day is finally over. What an experience.

We receive many gun salutes on our way out, like this

We arrive our homes as heroes, like this

Not only that, we've solved the unemployment problem for myself and for most Nigerians. No more locking of my soup pot like this

When the journalists come to ask me how it all happened, with a tearful voice I'll just say

Na only you start am and na only you finished am. wetin u want make others talk again.......

Haba! I just woke up from this dream

But it was a nice dream while it lasted.
