Much as I like the poem, I dont agree with some of the things you said (but I know many people will agree with you)
Some people are really trying their best to get the country out of the woods. Lets encourage
some of their efforts rather than criticize everything.

We cannot all become 'honest', we cannot all do the right things always.
But we can believe in ourselves, we can be optimistic, we can have HOPE!

Nice work again. Take care!

Concretness. That is the major characteristic of this poem. One can actually see the rotten tomato being stuffed in a "Komkom" and rebranded "Tinned Tomatoes". One thing the alliterative title does is to foreshadow the theme that is to come:Hypocrisy.

Nice poem, a nice reflection of our dear country,Nigeria.

Heard the poem read at the just concluded GCLF '09.

The concluding stanza says it all,

Humfrey:

until we become honest, do de right things:

This is beautiful. I've always preferred to see poems in pidgin, cos it shows how versatile the writer can be. It's our language and there a lot of poetry in the way it is spoken so I think we should write it more.

Good job.
