Is it just me or does Gt bank think today is August 1st 2016. I checked my mobile app and transactions p0i made today were registered as August 1st 2016. Wtf? They have even deducted their monthly maintenance charges on current acct which is normally done on the 1st of every month.

For bank transaction, weekend doesn't count, it's recorded for the 1st working day of the following week, so it's for money, if you request for your statement of account, no weekend transaction would be there.

You probably did that transaction after EODM, which is done at d end of business.
Subsequent transactions are recorded against next working day which includes ur Saturday and Sunday.

Op, organizations like this don't make silly blunders, so stop raising unnecessary alarms. All u needed do was ask meaningful questions whenever in doubt.

Banks do record weekend/non working days transaction using the date of next closest working day.
For example, if you make ATM withdrawal/transfer today, the transaction will be dated 01/08/16 which is Monday.

Gt bank dont process transfer on weekends and public holidays... The transaction will show the next working day... If you transfer on October 1st then your transfer will show oct 2 it will be processed 12 am on 2nd oct
