The picture of Yar'dua above is very scary. He's a sick man. "Sicker" than I used to think.

MrCrackles:

I am not surprised. . .He will probably send Ibori up there. . . . .

Or Aondokaa  grin

SERIOUSLY , WHAT WAS HE DOING IN SAUDI ARABIA AS A GUEST @ THE OPENING OF THE The King Abdullah University of Science and Technology WHEN ALL THE UNIVERSITIES BACK HOME ARE SHUT? It's crazy seeing oil money did theirs while our own oil money is giving our leaders pot bellies e.g. Baba Iyabo, Clown Akala of Oyo State etc.

Also it's debatable he had to take a 'state visit' to help open this university. Methinks, he's having his usual Saudi medical hajj.

oooh! Our leaders are not ashamed of themselves. You frequently go to foreign lands for medical check-ups; and now to the launching of a university in another foreign land, while your country's medical system is dysfunctional and universities closed, during the UN General Assembly, is a disgrace to someone who has shame. Unfortunately, he has no shame.

What happens in this nation is so sad!

A nation that God has blessed with people of intellect who have studied even outside the shores of this country;yet a sick man that can not cure himself is imposed on us as a president & for all the time he has ruled, has nothing to show; so what were we expecting?

Is Yaradua president because we lack people in this nation who should be elected as president?

We short change ourselves, yet we cry foul.

Except Nigerians remove the ethnicity, tribalism & religious sentiments that have beclouded our sense of judgement one day a complete slowpoke would be president, so that his region in the country can be happy, not because he has merited being there or has anything to offer this nation.

Even Yaradua himself has told the whole world he didnt win election,so why is it a 'must' he should be president

'Must' he be president!

Yes, there's this picture of Yar'dua with a saudi governor trying to open a new university when all our own are forcibly closed at home. Cry thy beloved country. embarassed

Yaradua is not attending for the simple reason that the Principal Secretary to Yar'Adua, Mr David Edevbie is wanted by the Metropolitan Police in the UK in connection with the Ibori trial. If Yaradua goes to USA David must also go and he will be picked up its as simple as that. Have a nice day

Do you think it is easy to address the whole world?. Your president is sick, He also cannot speak for himself also he's got fear that people might laugh at his English, We need to adjust a lot in our constitution which mandates us to speak English, Hugos Chavez, Gadaffi , Bolivian president and many others expressed themselves with their respective home language which was clear enough without any fear of making mistakes, Your president cannot speak from his senses unless his wife will have to assist him. It's a shame on us to have allowed our tradition and way of life to be dominated by the English people. Have you ever seen OBJ addressing people in Yoruba? He makes a lot of sense, It's until we change this we will have presidents who will be of international standards. Will be able to sit down and think then face the world and speak words as Obama does in English. Believe me this is our first problem.

Blame not Yara'dua, If he has the opportunity to speak Hausa he will be there and he will speak boldly. No one in the international community will understand his English and he will never make sense to them because his English is not sexy at all, I am sure there is no one to translate yaradua's type of English to the real English, He will not make any sense if he should attend, I am sure all his delegates turned the offer down because of same problem. These people are people like you and I and we put them there and have rights to discuss and advice on whatever they do that is if they hear us out.

Peace

He was not aware that the job requires him to be able to speak/write English…I thought he went to school in English? And we should amend the constitution because Yar’Adua can not speak English…maybe we should have also amended it to allow OBJ a 3rd term. Let's face it, he's not quaified to rule the country.

Well . . . I'm not sure the president missed much by not attending anyways!

His speech definitely would not have been as theatrical and engaging as Ghadaffi's 100-minute rave.
It was certainly amusing to watch the obviously fed-up and bemused diplomats suffer through the absurdities in silence.
Later it was Ahmadinejad's turn to rant, and people basically started walking out.
At least Yar'Adua is taciturn, and he prefers to nurse his kidney aches in silence. Isn't Ghadaffi supposed to be dying of something as well?
