Since when I was a child I have seen and eaten a fish popularly know as 'stockfish' . Its used mostly for many local dishes. Stockfish is very delicious and it create a nice flavour when added to dishes. But my questions goes like this
(1)What kind of fish is used exactly for the stockfish?
(2)how does this product find a way into this country? Is it produced locally?
(3)what are the presevatives used to store this stockfish?
(4)are they any health risk involved in consuming this product?
(5)why is it called stockfish?

1. stockfish is from a fish called cod
2. It is produced in Norway (maybe finland or sweden also)
3. no preservatives, it is hung outside in cold weather for many months to dry.
4. it is actually very nutritious and healthy
5. hmm i wonder too.
