THE COUNTRIES WHERE NO SINGLE SNAKE EXISTS AND OTHER SNAKE FACTS

You can find snakes everywhere on Earth but you will never find them in Ireland, Iceland, New Zealand, the North and South Poles and Antarctica. This is because during the ice age, the snakes could not move to these areas because of the cold. So if you hate snakes with a passion, just move to any of these countries and you will never see your enemy again.
The Black Mamba is NOT black at all; in fact, it is olive or greenish gray. It got its name from the colour of the insides of its mouth.
The 5 most venomous snakes in the world are the inland taipan, the eastern brown snake, the coastal taipan, the tiger snake, and the black tiger snake. Many people that encounter these snakes have the snakes' faces as the last things they ever saw. Alive.
Snakes do not have eyelids;what they have is a single transparent scale called a brille that protects their eyes. They don't blink and also sleep with their eyes open.
Some animals, such as the Mongoose, are immune to snake venom. That is why snakes to them, are delicacies.
The heaviest snake in the world is the anaconda. It weighs over 270 kg and can grow to over 9m (30 feet) long. It can eat Jaguars, and other animals of such size.
The death adder has the fastest strike of any snake in the world. It can attack, inject venom, and go back to striking position in less than 0.15 seconds.
Not all snakes lay eggs…Approximately 70% of snakes lay eggs. Those that lay eggs are called oviparous. The other 30% of snakes live in colder climates and give birth to live young because it is too cold for eggs outside the body to incubate.
The most violent snake in the world is believed to be the black mamba. It has the most highly evolved venom delivery system of any snake on Earth. It can strike up to 12 times in a row, though just one bite is enough to kill a grown man.
Some snakes have been known to eat more than their capacity and explode. For example, a 13-foot python blew up after it tried to eat a 6-foot alligator. The python was found with the alligator’s tail protruding from its midsection. Its head was missing.
There are flying snakes. What these snakes do is not really flying but gliding. There are 5 species of such snakes; growing up to 4 feet, some types can glide up to 330 feet through the air.
A snake’s fangs usually last about 6–10 weeks. When a fang wears out, a new one grows in its place.
The longest snake ever recorded is the reticulated python. It can reach over 33 feet long, which is big enough to swallow a pig, a deer, or even a person.
If you are asked for the most poisonous snake in the world, you would probably say the Black Mamba but the black mamba is not the most poisonous snake in the world. That title goes to the Inland taipan. It is the world’s most toxic snake, meaning it has both the most toxic venom and it injects the most venom when it bites. Its venom sacs hold enough poison to kill up to 80 people.
Some venomous snakes have died after biting and poisoning themselves by mistake.
The black mamba is the world’s fastest snake and the world’s second-longest venomous snake in the world, after the king cobra. Found in Africa, it can reach speeds of up to 12 mph (20km/h). It’s named not from the color of its scales, which is olive or greenish gray, but from the inside of its mouth, which is inky black. Its venom is highly toxic, and without anti-venom, death in humans usually occurs within a couple of hours and if the bite is to the head, in 10 mins, the person would be dead.
Snakes kill over 40,000 people a year although the actual figure is higher because of unreported incidents, the total may be over 100,000. About half of the total deaths in the world is in India.
Depending on the species, snakes can live from 4 to over 25 years.
There can be 10,000 male Garter Snakes fighting for one female during mating.

New Zealand has a few native species of snakes found in some villages in little islands.

Sea krait snakes and yellow- bellied sea snakes are also found in coastal reefs of New Zealand
