Ex-militant Group To FG: Enlist Us In Amnesty Programme Within Two Weeks Or by sarrki(m): 4:31am On Aug 03, 2016
An ex-militants group under the aegis of Former Forest Soldiers, FFS, aka Isaac Boro Last Born, yesterday, threatened to return to the creeks and unleash mayhem on government, oil and gas facilities in Southern part of the country in 14 days time unless the Federal Government enlist them in the amnesty programme. The group through its leader, ‘General’ O.C. Ibori, said:, “After years of several peaceful dialogues with the Federal Government represented by the Special Adviser to the President on Amnesty, Brig. Gen. Paul Boro (retd) in which the Federal Government agreed on many occasions to enlist us into the amnesty programme, the government has failed to fulfil its own side of the deal. “Instead of fulfilling its own part of the several agreements, the government started linking us to some recent kidnappings in the Arepo area of Lagos and other destructive activities by the Niger Delta Avengers, that we knew nothing about. “It is clear that the government has chosen force and fire instead of peace. It should be known that we only ceased fire in the face of the various dialogue but we have not laid down our weapons completely and our over 25 camps spread along the coastal area have not been disarmed. Now, we are breaking forth again for destruction, in a monumental level this time. “As such we are now giving the Federal Government two weeks ultimatum within which it must enlist us in the amnesty programme. At the expiry of this ultimatum, we will embark on the destruction of government and oil facilities across Niger Delta in a large scale that will take the government over 20 years to repair.”

Lolss
These militants have all lost their support base. Ordinary Nigerian on the street now considers them as men who are only out to blackmail Buhari‘s government.
Buhari & the militants are seen as the same cos both are destroying Nigeria‘s economy.

Buhari is destroying economy with his senseless, policiless & victimisation style of governance.

While the militants are using bombing to do theirs.

But when exactly are we going to have peace in this country

Because of this "oyel" sha! The "oyel" that is supposed to be a blessing to us is now a curse to the country.

I think Nigeria would have been better and more peaceful without oil, honestly.

Hahahahaha why this now? After seeing what Nigerian air force did at Arepo, they are now trying to save face because they know they are next

Buhari playing the dullard just like Goodluck played the clueless. So epic

See these fools oo...

Actually buhari could have handled the Niger delta issue better right after he was elected...He was overly obsessed with "corruption fight" and forgot about an issue that would come back to maim our economy...no matter how we look at it these roughians are key stakeholders in this country..instigating a long term plan and ensuring the Niger delta is peaceful should have prevented this madness now...now see the mess...more groups would come out asking for money too...

Buhari..... angry angry....

Nigeria would have been better with a structure from inception that would foster warm cohabitation amongst regions...

We are only paying the price for our foolishness as a nation...

Most Nigerians are beginning to see these guys for what they really are- a bunch of lazy deadbeats who blackmail the government to receive handouts. Hardly can they apply their intelligence positively to get what it is they want.

This, and many more instances, is the reason why I could hardly fault the Bayelsa state governor's comments about the attitude of the average Niger Delta youth.

Just too damn bad.
