I got a mail today, one of the many I get every other day. As I Read through it, the concluding part really got my attention.

We should be careful how and where we give out our details.

thats well protected already . the issue is many display iit openly themselves. just post any advet we the juicy offer, even when u ask them to pm u. some will still drop email and all their phone numbers

its not possible to sell someones email. As long as your emaik address is protected.
the worst they can do is spam you with unnecessary mails.

i had to create another email for dropping on social media and all. leaving my prefared email for my bank and other businesses..

That's how I also carelessly dropped my phone number sometime ago on this forum when I was looking for a job. Thinking a WhatsApp group would be created for job info... that's how different people started chatting up and talking about stuff that don't relate to job hunting. Anyway, that mistake has been corrected and the unnecessary contacts put in check.

Nairaland obviously wouldn't reveal your emails. These email are gotten when we drop our mails in threads hopinig for people to contact

When they say 'sell' email, they mean by they gathered about 20,000 emails from forum posts, compiled them into a list, and sold the list of emails to a buyer so they could spam the hell out of your inbox
