8 Simple Ways To Get Along With Your Teachers by Honestyboy(m): 7:49am On Aug 04, 2016
Getting admission into college or University is the dream of every prospective student. This joy most times get shortened when one gets into school and suddenly
becomes frustrated with all his academics curriculum because he or she can’t seem to get along with his school teachers whom he/she
may assume hates them because of their attitude towards him or her.
:
When you are schooling with a mind-set like this, having good grades will truthfully be very far from
you because love truly breeds success and if you and your teacher are in a hate-student/teacher pedestrian, you just may never do
well.
:
Here are a few reasons why you may not be getting along with them and a little guide on how to make necessary adjustments:
:
1) Dress Code:
The way you dress to school plays a major role on how your teachers see you. Endeavour to always appear neat and well organized when going to school. Dress responsibly and make sure you obey whatever dress code your school instructs you to put on (if you have any). When you
are properly dressed, it is only natural that you get addressed properly by your teachers.
:
2) Attend Classes:
No teacher is a fan of students that don’t attend classes. If he can abandon his busy schedule to come teach you, what is your excuse? Vital information and lessons gets
passed down in the classroom and it is only natural for you to miss out on these information because you were not present in class. Students who don’t attend classes are never known by their teachers and hardly get
along with them.
:
3) Punctuality:
There are students who never arrive class early. If you are known for walking in when your lecturer is already seated and teaching,
chances of getting along with such teacher are very slim. He/she will always assume you are unserious. No teacher loves such distractions. However, if you arrived late
because of an unforeseen circumstance, it is best to always tender an apology after the
class. Please make sure the apology doesn't become a habitual daily affair; else it becomes meaningless.
:
4) Classroom Distractions:
All forms of classroom distractions pisses teachers off. Students who practice this never get along with their teachers. There are many
ways students distract a class e.g. chatting with friends, texting with phones, chewing gums, playing phone games, sleeping etc. All
these side habits are bad and they never tell well of you before your teachers.
:
5) Respect Boundaries:
You don’t dial your teacher's cell phone by 12am in the morning or send informal messages to him/her because his/her phone number was given out to you. You must
respect his personal space. Students who behave this way don’t get along with their teachers because most of them will be forced to speak to you rudely during those informal
calls, which in turn makes you to start avoiding them or their classes.
:
6) Address them Politely:
That you are entitled to your personal
opinions gives you no right to address your teachers rudely. It is okay for you to disagree with them on some things they say, but you
must do that politely. Talking carelessly without caution would honestly make your teachers hate you and this can affect your
grades once the hatred becomes mutual from both ends.
:
7) Research before classes:
This is one of the best tricks to crawling into a teachers heart! Teachers love students who
work extra hard and come to class with a little knowledge of the topic at hand. This makes their work much easier for them and they tend to offer lots of support to students like this in areas they don’t understand well.
:
But when you arrive classes clueless, your teachers presume you are lazy and unserious and wouldn’t want to have personal relationships with you.
:
cool Participate in Class:
Students who actively participate in class during lectures are easily remembered by their teachers. It is good to be a part of the
class you are in. Ask reasonable questions, make your own contributions, join the debate
etc. seating dormant during classes doesn't tell well of you and most times passes you off as unserious and not so intelligent
student.
:
Ensure you Look into these few points and make proper
adjustments wherever you are lacking if you truly want to maintain a good relationship with your teachers. However, always
remember that humans are wired differently.
:
That you stick to these rules doesn’t mean you must be loved by a teacher. Some are just different and are very difficult to please.
:
In case you have one of those, don’t beat yourself up about it. Do your best; study hard and you will still make good grades.
The points nonetheless covers for a majority of them though; so take note of them! Good luck to you!
