Two protesting pensioners of Benue State, Wednesday slumped
inside the Government House in Makurdi while protesting their unpaid entitlements.

According to the leader of the protest, Kyado said no week passes without four to five pensioners dying in penury across the 23 local government areas of the state due to hardship arising from hunger, disease and starvation.

The victims who could be in their early seventies were amongst hundreds of pensioners who had stormed the Governor's office for a peaceful protest to press home their over eleven months arrears owed them by the state government.
