dubemnaija:
Here is the list of Nigeria's worst performing Governors of 2016. A lot of factors were used in getting to the above.

1. Yahaya Bello of Kogi state

Kogi state, once Nigeria’s seat of capital is now in ruins. From Ejule to Lokoja and beyond, from infrastructure to the economy, the state’s government has done little or nothing in shaping up the lives of its citizens. There are no good roads in the state, no viable commercial activities; state government paid staff and pensioners hasn’t been paid in months; to say that the governor is a monumental failure will be a ‘light praise.’

2. Ifeanyi Okowa of Delta State

The senator turned governor is amongst the worst performing governors in Nigeria. With all the huge funds accrued to to the state, Delta state capital Asaba in terms of infrastructural development is very backward. There are no good roads in the town, no drainage, no light and No water. The government has also done nothing in salvaging the precarious security situation of the state. Delta state has always been plagued with bad leaders whom are after their pockets. Mr Okowa should map out ways in dealing with the insecurity and embarking on massive infrastructural projects in the oil rich state.

3. Samuel Ortom of Benue state

Benue state governor has gotten himself a slot in the league of the worst performing governors. Since his inception into office, the ex-minister has not initiated or executed any viable project in his state. More so, the marauding Fulani herdsmen have been killing the people of the state in their thousands, and homes and villages been sacked. The governor has done nothing in securing his people against the killers. Until he initiates policies that will bring in goodies to the state, he will be in our list of worst performing governors in Nigeria.

4. Ayodele Fayose of Ekiti

The Ekiti state governor has recently been in the news and media on issues bothering the wife of the president. The governor who believes in stomach infrastructure politics have not been doing what a state chief executive ought to be doing. Instead, he choose to do the work of his party’s spokesperson. He attacks the president at any slightest opportunity instead of bringing up projects that will uplift the state. Ekiti is the poorest and the least developed state in the southwest and one of the poorest In Nigeria and as long as the current governor continues to ignore embarking on capital projects in the state, it will remain so for a very long time to come.

5. Abdulfatah Ahmed of kwara state

The governor of the north central state is not experienced on the issues of state leadership and good governance. One is expected that the state with abundant material and human resources should naturally be leading the pack, but it is not so. Instead, he chooses to become the official stooge of Nigeria’s senate president, Mr Saraki. Since he assumed office years back, the state has not experienced any significant growth that translated into the well-being of its citizens. Recently, news of foods being stolen from fire in the state was in the media, leading many to conclude that the hunger in the state was in massive scale. They are all correct. Ahmed needs to step up his game and better the lives of his people.

6. Darius Ishaku of Taraba state

Some would say that the man is taking his time resting after the narrow defeat he gave his rival Mrs Aisha Alhassan. The governor does not have what it takes to lead a state. I suggest he arms himself with advisers and commissioners that knows what it takes to deliver. No single road has been built in Jalingo or anywhere else in the state. The healthcare rating of the state has dropped, and the Education sector is in near comatose. Security has also worsened, and like his neighbor counterpart Mr Ortom, Darius Ishaku is clueless in tackling insecurity and other economic downturns in the state.

7. Tanko AL-makura of Nasarawa

Nasarawa state should be one of the best states in Nigeria in terms of revenue drive/generation and infrastructural growth, taking its proximity to Abuja as an advantage, but reverse is the case. It is one of the poorest state, north of Nigeria. The governor does not know what it means to prioritize needs. A governor that once wanted to embark on the construction of a cargo airport in the state without standard markets and commercial activities taking place in it. State and local government workers haven’t been paid for months in the state, and no viable project have been commissioned in the state since 2014; one wonders where all the revenue accrued to the state goes. Tanko is one of the governors that squanders federal government allocations on frivolities.

8. Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi of Enugu state

Talking about total cluelessness in governance, The Enugu state governor sits on-top. The governor of the coal city state has done virtually nothing since he came into power a year ago. Whatever there is now in Enugu state was done by his predecessors. He is said to be the most ‘’dormant’’ governor in the southeast of NIGERIA. The vibrant capital of the old eastern region, touted to be the entertainment hub of the southeast is now turning to a shadow of its old self. Watchers have started speculating about the possibility of the governor in securing a second term for himself come 2019.

9. Shettima of Borno State

Mr shettima presides over the affairs of the state ravaged by terrorism and insurgency. Since Nigerians (and the world) is more interested in getting to stop the insurgency, his non-performance and cluelessness have been overlooked. The economic and commercial activities in the once Home of Peace is now at a stand-still, and nothing has been done by the governor. His reasons for his non performance is Insecurity, but that shouldn't be the case. Shettima should draw up reconstruction plans and makes sure he sticks his nose into it, till total reconstruction is achieved. He should leave fighting terrorism for the federal government and focus on developmental plans.

N/B: As a blogger, I've been to all 36 states of Nigeria and including the FCT. The compilation was based on what I saw on ground and all other relevant yardsticks.

Source: http://www.dubemnaija.com/2016/08/nigerias-2016-worst-performing-governors.html

You either are unable to express yourself and what exactly is on ground or is missing in these States you have mentioned or you are simply an attention seeker.

The write up lacks any substance and the writer for lack of a vast vocabulary resorts to insults and abuse of the person of the governors rather than indicate the standard or yardstick for measurement for performance and then attempt to explain how these governors and their cabinets fall short.

All in order to click bait the public, the blogger attempts to write up about governors and uses his/her own invisible criteria to rout the governors while being unable to properly present facts to back his/her claims. How sad and shameful.

The list is laughable, no Aregbesola who has actually made mockery of governance,no Dickson who is owing 7mnths salary even though Bayelsa is an oil-producing state but you included Ugwuanyi who can at least pay workers' salary and is still doing some massive road construction at Nsukka. May be you think governance starts and stops at State capitals.

100% true.. Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi has done absolutely nothing since he was sworn-in.
Oh wait he has actually done something, that was declaring days of fasting and prayers against the rogue fulani herdsmen few months ago.

Like what precisely?
I'm from Delta State but I'm not residing in Nigeria but I came to Nigeria few months ago and I spent a couple of weeks in Asaba. I can't claim that I was able to visit all parts of Delta States but the op used Asaba as his case study and having spent some weeks in Asaba recently, I can tell him that his post is senseless. I saw a lot of constructions going on including roads and drainage system. Asaba roads are bad but do you expect a governor to fix all the roads in a city under one year?

The question should be what did the other governors that didn't make this list do that Okowa didn't do? How are they performing better than him?

As in ehn, the magic Abulolo used on op is foreign to me. For all I care he should be number 3 on the list after Ortom and Yahaya Bello.
We'd soon be entering second week of August and no one is talking about July salaries, na this jagbajantis Screening he wan take cover our eyes.
The major roads have broken down , no ongoing projects of note, and from all indications, we were least prepared for this planting season.

Whoever said ambode should be on that list, is definately blind, or has not been to lagos in the last 7months, or is just a mischief, from berger bridge, any visitor to lagos wil know a lots of projects are going on, and going round lagos, ikoyi to v.I to lekki to mainland, ayobo, ipaja, ikorodu road, oshodi, mile 2, orile-iganmu, surulere, okota, shomolu, ikorodu, magodo, epe, badagry road, abule egba, yaba, ebute-metta. U go see ambode works tire and u'll dose off. There is no doubt, ambode is the best in Nigeria as at today, he was honoured a week ago, by a media house. And whoever wants my governor, aregbe on that list should do a re-think, come to osun state and see for himself, nothing to hide, they say seeing is believing.
