04 AUGUST 2016  WRITTEN BY KENECHUKWU OFOMAH Governor Willie Obiano says with the support of the organized private sector, his government can achieve its vision of diversifying the state's economy through the importation of agricultural products. Governor Obiano was speaking during a working visit he made to Tiger Foods Limited, Obosi. The governor had upon arrival at the factory, toured its various sections where spices of various kinds including ginger, tumeric, coriander, cumin, uziza, uda among others were packaged for export, before he had a closed door meeting with the company's management Board.  Speaking after the meeting, Governor Obiano who observed that a larger percentage of spices consumed in the country is produced by the factory, said his interest is to see how the produce used by the company could be grown in the state. The governor who noted that the visit is to have firsthand information of the operations of the company and its capacity, expressed satisfaction that despite having worked for only three years, the company is already doing well.  He revealed that as a fallout from the meeting, the state government will be providing a sizeable portion of land for the company to grow the raw materials. The Chairman of the Company, Chief Celestine Ebubeogu thanked the Governor for the visit which he noted will give impetus to their efforts at boosting their foreign exchange earnings and creating jobs for the teeming unemployed youths in the state. On his part, the company's Managing Director, Mr Donatus Ebubeogu revealed that they are at present doing 200 thousand dollars export, noting that their dream of actualizing their one million dollar export capacity will only happen when they have a guaranteed supply of local raw materials.
