LESSON FROM AN ORANGE: WHEN LIFE SQUEEZES YOU!
BASIC SCRIPTURE: COLOSSIANS 1: 14-28
Many years ago, the late Dr. Wayne W. Dyer took an orange on stage during a lecture and he asked this question:
"If I were to squeeze this orange as hard as I could, what would come out?" Some voices from the crowd shouted "Juice if course."
"Do you think apple juice could come out of it?" No!" the crowd replied.
"What about grapefruit juice?"
"No!" was their answer again.
"What would come out of it?" And the general chorus was:
"Orange juice, of course."
He asked, "When you squeezed an orange, why does orange juice come out?" The crowd was confused with that question and mumbled a few answers but Dr . Dyer raised the orange and made this statement:
"Orange juice comes out because its an orange and that's what's inside." He continued: "Let's assume that this orange isn't an orange, but it's you and someone squeezes you, put pressure on you, says something you don't like, offends you, and out of you comes anger, hatred, bitterness, fear, etc. Why? The answer, the answer as indicated by this man, is because that's what's inside." it's one of the great lessons of life! The question the Holy Ghost is asking you today is : What comes out when life squeezes you? When someone hurt or offends you? If anger, pain and fear come out of you, it's because that's what's inside. It doesn't matter who does this squeezing - your parents, your brother/sister, your children, your boss, your friend, your enemies, or even the government. If someone says or does something to you that you don't like, what comes out of you is what's inside you. And what's inside is up to you, it's your choice! When someone puts the pressure on you and out of you comes anything other than love, it's because that's what you've allowed to be inside through daily WORD meditation! Today's scripture vs. 27 emphasized: CHRIST IN YOU." Don't forget this! Yes, Jesus Christ of Nazareth now dwells on your inside and that means all his characteristics, virtues, traits such as holiness, power, humility, love, authority, courage, boldness as a lion, wisdom, etc, now dwells on your inside. Your duty is to allow Him to live through you daily no matter the matter! Let the world see His love flow through you as you go out today! Let them see you and proclaim: "This is a Christian! " As 2016 ends, when life squeezes you, the light and glory of God will flow out because CHRIST IS IN YOU! The world will not see bitterness, depression, shame, disgrace, and malice out. of you from this day in Jesus name! Amen! Pray now!
PRAYER POINTS: Take song 3: Blessed assurance...
1. Pray about today's word generally as led now.
2. Repent from advertising satan in your past when you were "squeezed" by life or people. Repent from malice, bitterness, anger, discouragement and depression in the past.
3. Holy Ghost let the life of Jesus flow out of me daily when life squeezes me. Pray tongue seriously now!
4. Pray about today seriously on any other issue(s) affecting your peace.
