It's the opening ceremony of a sporting event. Everybody uses the opportunity to showcase the native dresses of their country. It's a tradition; It has always been like that. You can Google it to see how others dressed at the ceremony.
@op... Whoever is in charge of this should be punished. Things are really bad in the country at this moment. It's a pity.

My brother, i prefer the tract suit to this garment wey dem waste money sew. They were not the only team wearing a tract suit. It's cheaper. In the end it's how we perform and not what we wore at the opening ceremony. We nigerians just like show off and it's killing us.
