TEEP is giving grants of $5,000 dollars this year not N850,000 as you have stated erroneously. I am part of this year cohort. The $5,000 will be paid to you in local currency based on prevailing cbn exchange rate. So go figure out the naira value.

Now for something serious, TEEP is not about money but helping the entreprenuer become a better business person. You undergo 12 weeks of training that makes you well grounded in business refine your idea. Please only apply if you have passion for the business.

About the Programme

The Tony Elumelu Foundation Entrepreneurship Programme is the flagship entrepreneurship programme of the Tony Elumelu Foundation, founded by the entrepreneur, respected investor and philanthropist Tony O. Elumelu. For the next 10 years (starting from last year) 1,000 business ideas will be selected across Africa, to be nurtured and funded in the tune of $5,000 grant and $5,000 loan.

The selected participants are grilled with a 12 weeks online training which will enable them gather information about their business ideas and at the final day, prepare and submit a business plan. This business plan, along with business registration/incorporation, corporate account, etc, are all prerequisite to the funds disbursement.

About this thread

This thread is meant to guide people applying for Tony Elumelu Entrepreneurship Programme (TEEP). My intention is to talk about the programme and also encourage people with bright ideas, but without funds, people seek in funds for their existing businesses and people who are willing to learn.

With this thread, I hope to guide future participants as I also intend to pick individual questions (TEEP questions) and dissect them one after the other. This thread is coming from someone planning to apply for the programme next year and that has helped three participants get into the programme.
