– The Nigerian government has proposed 5 ways to spend the Abacha loot – The loot which is yet to be released by Switzerland is part of the 2016 budget – If released the $321 million will make it $1.044 billion of stolen loot, returned by Switzerland so far Abacha’s de factor rule as president from 1993-1998 was marked by looting of the country’s treasury In order to facilitate the quick return of part of Sani Abacha’s loot from Switzerland, the Nigerian federal government has proposed ways the returned loot will be used, when released. Therefore, the government of Nigeria has sent 5 proposals to Switzerland detailing how it will spend the $321m Sani Abacha loot. According to The Nation, Justice Abubakar Malami, the Attorney General of the Federation (AGF) for the Buhari administration said they will spend the bulk of the fund on social welfare for Nigerians to alleviate poverty. “Some of the projects have been captured in this year’s budget. They will impact on all Nigerians,” Malami said. “They wrote back to us on the fact that they will want the World Bank to be directly involved in the monitoring of the projects with a caveat that we have to pay monitoring fees. “We have not come to terms with paying monitoring fees for all the projects. We have not taken any decision to pay the bills for all the projects or to restrict the payment to two of the projects, “We are already collaborating with World Bank on three projects which will accelerate the nation’s development,” he concluded. Meanwhile, recall that only two months ago, former president Olusegun Obasanjo had described a judge as “ignorant and stupid” for directing all past civilian presidents from 1999 to account for the loot recovered from the late military dictator, Sani Abacha. The judge had issued an order of mandamus directing the federal government, through the attorney-general of the federation, to compel the regimes of Obasanjo, Musa Yar’ Adua and Goodluck Jonathan to publish the details of the recovery and spending of the Abacha loot.https://www.naij.com/919520-read-5-ways-fg-plans-spend-abacha-loot-321m.html?source=index_main

crestedaguiyi: So Buhari should leave Abacha's stolen money with Switzerland so that they can use it to develop their country while you go and work there as cleaners and security guards. |

It is obvious wailers can't stand the sight of Buhari exposing the rot that took place under their brother. How do you ignore $20B lying idle in the account of few Nigerians and start worrying about oil price you have no controll over? |
