5 Annoying Things Nigerians Do In Petrol Stations by Lordemma(m): 10:55pm On Aug 10, 2016

Petrol stations are a common feature in cities all around the world.

People from all walks of life troop in daily to buy petrol, gas, diesel, kerosene, buy engine oil and carryout repairs.

Some petrol stations strategically have a fast food or a mini-supermarket behind them where customers can quickly dash off to relax and get what interests them.

In Nigeria, many people do some annoying things while in the petrol station which can be so annoying to see.

Nawhere.ng lists five annoying things Nigerians do in petrol stations.

1.Petrol talkers

Despite signs and warnings dotted all over petrol stations on the dangers of using a cell phone especially when close to a petrol dispensing machines, some Nigerians tend to ignore these warnings and are usually seen chatting endlessly on their phones while buying fuel.

2.Rule breakers

Most petrol stations are well planned and have easy access and exit routes. But some Nigerians deliberately break these rules. It is common place to see drivers turn illegally to use the access route as exit route and vice versa ignoring the laid down rule already in place.

3.Kings of kegs

Nigeria Filling Station

This is really annoying especially when you are in a hurry. It is a common sight in petrol stations to see drivers offloading hordes of kegs from their vehicles to have them all filled up. This is very common during the fuel scarcity period or when scarcity is imminent. People should be considerate, putting in mind that if every other person does the same, we will all practically sleep in petrol stations.

4. ‘I know the manager’ crew

These set of people are seen mostly during the fuel scarcity period. They abuse the privilege of knowing the staff and management of the petrol station and go ahead to rub it in the face of those patiently waiting in queues by barging in from nowhere, get a refill and leave immediately with arrogance. Any attempt to query their audacity will be met with a shrug and sometimes the information that they are ‘a friend of the house’.

5.Petrol-managers

Danfo-bus

Those familiar with the annoying antics of the commercial bus drivers can relate to this. Imagine being inside a commercial bus and the driver enters a petrol station, only for him to buy five hundred naira (500) fuel after wasting 5-10 minutes in the petrol station. Super annoying!
