The Kogi State Command of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency has arrested a truck driver with 1,126.9 kg of Indian hemp with a street value of N5m.
The commander of the agency, Alhaji Idris Bello, who paraded the suspects yesterday said Abdullahi who claimed to be conveying 100 bags of the illicit drug from Uromi in Edo State to Kaduna for one Ibrahim, was arrested in the early hours of Wednesday near Kabba-Junction on Lokoja-Abuja highway.





The driver, according to Bello, attracted the attention of an NDLEA patrol team when he took a U-Turn on the highway in a bid to escape with the drugs having been tipped off by aVolkswagen Sharon space bus driver ahead of him.

The NDLEA commander appealed to the state government to assist the command with logistics especially vehicles to carry out the task of ridding the society free of illicit drugs while urging community vigilance groups to assist the agency with information.

paraded was Osuporu Wale from Offa in Kwara State, arrested with 200 grams of cannabis on July 31, at Zango-Ofere and Wale Adebisi, an apprentice tailor, arrested with 7 kg of cannabis on August 7, at Akutupa all in the Kabba-Bunu Local Government Area of the state.
