HAPPY INDEPENDENCE DAY INDIA....!!

India celebrates Independence Day on August 15 each year. India became an
independent nation on August 15, 1947, so a gazetted holiday is held
annually to remember this date. This makes them 79 years old today... they got their
independence from the British Empire.

India attained independence following an Independence
Movement noted for largely nonviolent resistance and civil disobedience led by
the Indian National Congress (INC). Independence coincided with the partition
of India , in which the British Indian Empire was divided along religious lines
into the Dominions of India and Pakistan; the partition was accompanied by
violent riots and mass casualties, and the displacement of nearly 15 million
people due to sectarian violence. On 15 August 1947, Jawaharlal Nehru , who had
become the first Prime Minister of India that day, raised the Indian national
flag above the Lahori Gate of the Red Fort in Delhi. On each subsequent
Independence Day, the prime minister has raised the flag and given a speech.

The holiday is observed throughout India with flag-hoisting ceremonies,
parades and cultural events. There is a national holiday and schools and
government offices distribute sweets but no official work is done.

DO YOU THINK INDIA HAS ACHIEVED MUCH DEVELOPMENT COMPARED TO THEIR AGE OR THEY COULD HAVE BEEN BETTER THAN THIS?

What has she achieved as a country?

India might have not achieved so so much compared to years they have spent as an Independent country, but YES they have achieved.

Look at Medicine, Pharmaceuticals and Medical Sciences.
Take organ transplants as an example.

Information Technology
Behind every IT production of Goods or Services, you see the brain of an Indian.
Take Visa Application for example, embassies outsource that to Indian companies.

Even IT institutions in the UK employ Indians to teach.

Bollywood
Even though most of what we see is fake, it looks so real.

Indians are hard working and are good at anything they lay their hands on. (thanks to their high popylation which makes competition 'crazy').

The way things are going, @ 100 years Nigeria might not achieve half of what India has achieved at this present age.

I remember it was cited in government about India's independence in 1947 back in the secondary school days, it motivated other countries towards independence.

To me, India still has issues in her country to tackle based from their movies (my thoughts though).

Happy Independence to Mother India
