D'Tigers of Nigeria crashes out after 69-86 loss to Brazil

Nigeria's Men basketball team D'Tigers could not make history as they were sent packing from the Men's Olympic Basketball after being beaten by host nation Brazil in their last match of Group B. Nigeria players were all out to prove a point but lacks cutting edge.

They tried. They were so close to Brazil at a point that they could have overtaken them. The Tigers had good defence but their attack was not well coordinated. I also observed that the Brazilian players were tall..

that Brazilian last fourth quarter run killed us. after we closed the gap down a bit. then we became disorganized. it was a decent effort.

Watched the game on NTA yesterday evening and I was pissed.. both teams can't play abeg... Instead of D'tigers cats to defend well nd try to get in more 2 pointers in the 4th quater they were busy trying thier luck with 3pointers they obviously can't pull through ....... And to those Brazilian spectators always booing d'tigers I pray Brazil meets USA then they would be Completely Finished

yes you are right. during the first two quarters, while they were shooting 3pointers, they had no man under the basket for the rebound . a mistake they corrected in the 3rd quarter. speaking of the defence I don't know why ibekwe didn't start from the onset, one tall very lanky guy. he made enough blocks and was strong in defence. our defence improved immediately he was put forcing the Brazilians to shoot from outside...........the team did well tho, Brazil has always had a good basketball team.

i was really keen to watch how Chamberlain oguchi will turn this one around. oguchi hasn't really been at his best. its like I am watching a shadow of the that terrorized opponents at the all African games last year.

the future of nigeria's olympic participation lie in the hands of diaspora nigerians.....most of them switched allegiance to nigeria when dey couldnt qualify to rep. Their respective countries.

Brazil didnt qualify for the next around as well. Nigeria and Brazil were the two teams at the bottom of group B that didn't progress to the quarter finals.
