Bear With Us, We Inherited A Bad Economy – Osinbajo Begs Nigerians by Biafra1000: 8:26pm On Aug 16, 2016 |
Vice-President Yemi Osinbajo has once again called on Nigerians to be patient with the current Federal Government as it inherited a decayed economy from the previous government. He, however, assured Nigerians that the Muhammadu Buhari administration was working round the clock to salvage the current situation. Osinbajo gave this charge while speaking at the inauguration of the agricultural sector road map titled, ‘The Green Alternative: Agriculture Promotion Policy 2016 – 2020’, in Abuja. He said, “The present administration came into office to meet an economy essentially in meltdown.” According to him, the Federal Government had concluded that before the end of September this year, the Bank of Agriculture would start giving out single digit interest loans to farmers in Nigeria. “We knew that we had to set alright the economy and put it back on the path of sustainable growth with job opportunities for our teeming population. So, one of the critical components of that plan is to position agriculture as the arrow-head of our economic recovery efforts. If we get agriculture right, we will get our economy right. “The Green Alternative has set out strategies for resolving these challenges. I’m personally impressed that the road map does not dismiss the agricultural policy of the past. “Just to give some obvious examples, we cannot have a policy of encouraging local production of food and on the other hand have a high tariff on imported agricultural equipment. There is no way that we can encourage local production while we allow unbridled importation of the same things that we are trying to produce”, he added. Osinbajo observed that the financing of agriculture was also a crucial policy, adding that “with double digit interest rate at the moment, we have developed some funding options in the short term.” http://www.afikpochicblog.com/16046 2 Likes

Shut up! Just shut up!! Nothing has been done so far to show you even know what you are doing. Obama came in during recession but his policies were clear and addressed their needs. If you are overwhelmed, resign. |

The naivete of Osinbajo as the head of Economic team and Fashola's failure in power ministry brought the unmitigated collapse of Nigeria's economy. Empty barrels, delivering hunger, unemployment, insecurity, increase in crime rate, blackout, market instability. These guys just delivered directly opposite of what they promised. Osinbajo should take Fashola's advice. "If the kitchen is becoming too hot as it’s becoming obvious he must get out of it. The governor of Lagos State, Babatunde Fashola, has dismissed the speech presented by President Goodluck Jonathan at the inauguration of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, campaign, in Lagos on Wednesday, saying it had become obvious that the president could no longer rule the country. |

There is a handover note that a predecessor give to his successor before he leaves office. This note include money that is left in government coffers and other assets.Buhari should publish the handover note for Nigerians to read how much asset was left in the treasure. |

Ok, so Nigerians should bear with u now, did ur party ever bear with the last administration even when they got one or two of their policies right . Agreed that the last administration had their Achille's heel but u guys never gave them the chance to see some of their policies through, the fuel subsidy palaver readily comes to mind.. Ur party gave Nigerians a lot of propaganda, making us believe that Nigeria would automatically become an eldorado over night once ur party wins the election, and now that reality has set in,all of a sudden u need more time because u ve seen that it's easier said than done. U must fulfill all ur electoral promises with immediate alacrity if not Nigerians will be awaiting ur party at the polls in 2019. 2 Likes 1 Share |
