Blackstone and Dangote Industries today in Kano announced a commitment by Black Rhino, a portfolio company of Blackstone Energy Partners to jointly invest up to $10bn in energy infrastructure projects in the state and across south east Nigeria, with particular emphasis on renewable energy, transmission and pipeline infrastructure.

The chairman of Black Rhino Group and Emir of Kano, Malam Muhammadu Sanusi II, explained that the group and Dangote Industries would contribute $5bn each for the construction of a coal power plant and a solar energy project in Kano, as well as gas pipeline project from Akwa Ibon to South west Nigeria, where Dangote industries are concentrated.

Also speaking during a courtesy visit to the state governor, Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, the Emir explained that the consortium decided to embark on the power projects in Kano because of the power crisis in the state, explaining that the coal project and the solar energy project would produce about 1,000 MW and 100 MW respectively.

Why not Kogi or enugu then use cable to transmit the power to Kano? ?

Something I have noticed about the loudest separatists is that their arguments always expose them to be the bottom of the pack in terms of wisdom and common sense. Dangote, a private individual decides to build a power plant in his state and someone thinks this is a sound reason or justification to want to balkanise the country. Where are all the big big SE business men?... aka ogbajiri ha iru power plant?

-Dangote is marginalising us,

But they often overlook the fact that none of their governors believes in Innoson Motors.

Why construct gas pipeline from Akwa Ibon to South west. When Lagos can supply him gas from its oil and gas wells.
