Wwe summer slam is undoubtedly the biggest fight of the summer.
This year's summer slam was action packed with a lot of main event matches which could win the match of the year award.

Below are the results:

pre show: 12 man tag match
usos/ hype bros/ american alpha vs vaudevillians/ breezango/ ascension.
* the team of the usos picked up the win after a superfly splash from jey uso was able to keep Gotch down for the count of three.

Pre-show: dudley boyz vs sami zayne and neville.
An unintentional clothesline from bubba to d-von set the confused bubba up for the helluva kick.
And then a red arrow from neville kept bubba down for a count of three.

Pre-show: cesaro vs sheamus.

*The first of the best of seven series match.
When ceasaro proved to be too tough for sheamus, sheamus's only way out was to thumb cesaro in the eye. Then delivered the brogue kick while cesaro was still blind sided to pick up the win.

Sheamus def cesaro.

Big cass/ enzo amore vs chris jericho/ kevin owens.


Jericho and owens dominated most of the match.
Enzo took most of the beating.
All jericho and owens neede to win the match was a canonball to big cass against the barricade and a code breaker to enzo.

Women's title: sasha banks vs charlotte. (dana brook banned from ring side)


*this one was a tough match. Both divas dished out equal beating.
In the end, it was charlotte who would pin sasha with a roll up, becoming the women's champion for the second time.


My opinion: wwe shouldnt have made sasha lose the title she won barely a month ago

Intercontinental title; miz vs apollo crews.


Boring match. Didnt even last long.
Crews misses a charge into the corner and miz delivers the skull crushing finale to retain his title.

AJ styles vs john cena.


A very interesting match. Both superstars gave it all they got.
Both kicking out of each other's super moves and finishers.
AJ delivers the styles clash and cena kicks out.
Cena delivers the AA and AJ also kicks out.


After a very tough match, AJ proved to be the better superstar by pinning cena with the 2nd phenomenal forearm.

Tag team titles; new day vs gallows and anderson.


Once again john stewart ruins another championship match.
Last year he cost cena his championship and this year he cost gallows and anderson their tag titles.


Thanks to an interference by john stewart, gallows and anderson won by disqualification.
This means that even though the new day lost by DQ, they are still the tag team champs.

Smackdown world title: dean ambrose vs dolph ziggler.

A very interesting and entertaining match. Not surprising since the ultimate title is on the line.

After a very tough match, dean retained his title after delivering a dirty deeds to ziggler.

Nikki bella makes a return to the ring at summer slam.

6 woman tag match:
It was supposed to be alexa bliss/ natalya/ eva marie vs naomi/ carmella/ becky lynch. But due to the fact that eva was on a 30 day suspension, she was replaced by nikki.


Nikki bella/ naomi/ alexa bliss def. Naomi/ carmella/ becky lynch.

Universal title match(aka Raw world title); finn balor vs seth rollins.

The new universal title was unveiled for the first time.
It looked just like the wwe world heavy weight and women titles, only that it had red bands.

My opinion; it was ugly



Finn balor defeated seth on his first wwe ppv to become the first ever wwe universal champion.

US title: rusev vs roman reigns.

Due to a pre-match brawl started by rusev, their match was cancelled after reigns gave him a few superman puches and smashes his back with a steel chair and the doctors declared rusev not fit to compete.

Reigns still went on to spear rusev as he was being helped out of the arena

Last match of the night:
brock lesner vs randy orton.


A very brutal match. Brock was delivering beatings but orton kept taking them.
10+ suplexes from lesner but orton is still standing.
A ddt from the baricade and an RKO on the announce table but but lesner is still in the match.


An F5 from lesner and orton kicks out at two. This infuriates lesner, he takes off his gloves and starts hammering away at orton, hitting him with both his fists and elbow.

Lesner stands up and blood is gushing from ortons face.
The doctors come to attend to orton but lesner pushes them away and keeps pummelling orton.

Finally, to save orton, the ref calls for the bell.
So lesner wins by TKO.


Lesner still refuses to leave the ring. Shane comes to get him off the ring but he delivers an F5 to shane.



And thats the end of summer slam 2016
