Fashola recognised for the job he is doing is quite a great achivement, but after visiting google and the CGI website. im surprised to find out that its only nigerian websites that seems to carry this news, even the CGI website found nothing remotely concerning fashola.

To be sincere, i think his initiatives is creating more harm than good. we still have problems of security, homelessness, unemployment, strike action, lack of basic amenties and the list goes on and on.
Re: Former US President Gives Fashola International Award by Ndipe(m): 8:58pm On Sep 30, 2009
Fashola is the kind of leader we need in Nigeria. He is one of the best governors to have ruled any state in Nigeria.

I just do not understand why most governors do not understand this simple concept. It is not so hard to do good things especially when you have the means, the ability and will of the people behind you. Thumbs up fashola.

Kudos to you Mr. Fashola. Please keep the fire burning. I hope some day God will raise for this country visionary men like Fashola, who could resolutely see to quantifiable change and progress in this nation. I believe strongly this will surely happen. God will deliver us from visionless leaders.

Re: Former US President Gives Fashola International Award by UpBendel(m): 12:40am On Oct 01, 2009
Ok

I don't necessarily have a problem with rebuilding Lagos but why everything has to be done on the island is what I don't quite understand. Other parts of Lagos state as a whole also need developing. The end result of this sort of development is the concentration of high-priced, unaffordable, buildings at the neglect of other impoverished areas. There is an article on Nairaland I read not too long ago that estimates that about 23million more people will be added to the already over-congested city that is Lagos by the year 2015 - 6 years from now. That same article also cited the fact that parts of Lagos - not the island - is slowly degenerating into hyper-slums. Are these 23 million people going to live on the island

The Governor can only do so much, I agree and I am not in any way trying to minimize or trivialize his accomplishments in such a short period, heck I was stuck in traffic on that Oshodi expressway for 6 solid hours the last time I was in Nigeria so I can clearly relate to the improvements. My fear is that by the time Fashola leaves, only God knows what the next governor would do or what project he/she might consider most important.

Bluetooth, I don't see where in any part of my comment I displayed any paranoia.  Did not even say or give any suggestion that Fashola does not deserve the award.  Do you have a problem understanding grammar?

Putting simply, uncle Fash is the best thing thats happened to this state or even country as a whole.
Award or no award i believe we as individuals should also in our own little way include him in our prayers.
He truly deserves this and much more.
Really wish he could run for presidency and lets have someone who is alive and well running things.
congratulations to the man for a well deserved award. wink

namun:

@chosen, no one cares of your opinion because its obvious you are stupid and not seeing properly.

  namun,

Its obvious u dont live in lag or go out of ur house. Is Fashola building a maga city that will be govern by AREA BOYS?. AREA BOYS/STREET URCHINS extorting money from bus drivers in broadlight day in fashola's maga city? why his government empowers AGBEROS, artisans and market women are displaced.

Teachers are on strike. Areaboys have become the teachers to the pupils/students in lagos in the name of maga city project.

Fashola's govt is only pro-infrastructure but anti-people. Its all about LASTMA extorting money from motorist aided by lagos state trained area boys and council officials. KAI seizing traders wares and re-selling to state officilas.
LASTMA officials are now after TOWING vehicles even without any offence committed.

Can u imagine planting flowers/operating a recreation gardens and having it bab-wired and fenced! thats what i call maga city indeed. Our problem is that we sing praises on people just cos some one else is singing without considering the achievements on ground. I

Its same mistake that Nigerians did during OBJ's reign when ARTHUR NZERIBE said lets impeach him every body said he was best president that we ever had until we veils in our eyes was removed.

Fashola the best governor in nigeria? YES. Has he done tremendiously well? NO. He is still an average governor but better than the rest. All this praising singing will so end when the veils in our eyes is removed or if we are to judge is govt against "governors in Other civilised countries in the world"

But come to think of it!! Why is he still keeping the AREA BOYS?.
