PDP Is Dying, Says Bode George



Following the botched national convention of the People Democratic Party (PDP) in Port Harcourt, a chieftain and one of the aspirant for the national chairmanship position of the party, Chief Bode George, has lamented that the PDP is dying, and he is holding Governors Ayo Fayose of Ekiti state and Nyesom Wike of Rivers state responsible.

George said in a statement signed by his political adviser, Mr. Uthman Shodipe-Dosunmu: “This is indeed a very sad period for the People’s Democratic Party. The sky is dark and bleak. The party is now at the edge of a cliff, dangling before an imminent plunge into ruin and forfeiture.

“Our party has lost its soul. Our party has lost the fundamental defining logic of its existence, stripped of all the higher values of old like Justice, fairness and equity.”

He said that the situation within the party right now is not what the founding fathers like Chief Alex Ekwueme, Alhaji Adamu Ciroma, Chief Solomon Lar and so many great men and women envisaged, as it “has now become a party led by ethically challenged and crude conspirators who openly and blatantly distort the democratic processes to sabotage the will of the people and perpetuate themselves in power.

“We had thought that the crisis provoked by the issue of Senator Ali Modu Sheriff would be finally laid to a rest after the conclusion of August 17th National Convention in Port Harcourt.

“We couldn’t be more wrong. Even as millions of well meaning party men and women were planning meticulously to restore our party to the part of decency and the part of probity and restorative sanity, a desperate gang of men had other ideas.”

George specifically accused Wike and Fayose of forming an unholy alliance against the growth and the development of the party.

“These two men have somehow assumed some reckless proprietary claim and dubious hold upon the jugular of our party.

“Wike and Fayose have become so powerful and heedless, blinded by narrow provincialism, swept aimlessly on the creed of greed, hurried along the straight path to inevitable perdition.

“They are the strutting gods of the hour who are disdainful of any guidance, who deride any counsel, who mock every advice with a sneer.

“They want to control every gesture and every nuance in our party. If possible, they want to impose their puppet candidates in all available offices if we are not vigilant enough.”

These two contributed 90% of the problems PDP is having and i sometimes feel they have chosen this path to perdition based on what people on the internet say about young people taking charge of the party...

While I'm not supporting a position of ONLY geriatrics leading political parties but how something was birthed is very important to its stability and viability. PDP has "investors/shareholders" who expect returns and dividends, they'll never stand back and be shortchanged, so why court unnecessary drama?

G34 were some effing old men, it's their party. most of the donkeys baying on social media will eventually calm down when they have no choice..

BTW, neither of Donald nor Hillary are spring chickens.

PDP only ever existed to share the money - Nigerians' money - into their private pockets and families! That is why you were and remain a failure! If after 16 years in power, you could not survive for only just 1 year, then your fraud is laid bare before everyone! Meanwhile, people like George, Jonathan, etc criticize Timubu, et al at every opportunity but they for 16 years stood the test of time, with less resources, in the face of intimidation, etc but useless PDP after wasting more than N100 Trillion is dead after less than 1 year? Nigeria needs PDP to die and give KOWA a chance to be the main opposition part so far as they have real ideas!

How? Neither men have nothing to do with the present state of PDP, are they the ones imposing candidates?

Argue about Sheriff's recalcitrance with yourself, he is fighting for his right and his investment...Not everyone can be jobbed ... Some will leave it for God but some will make every breath you draw a misery. #fact..

PDP is suffering because old men like Bode George are refusing to take the back seat!
