Gatecrashing is the act of attending a
recruitment test/interview without being
invited and with the hope of being allowed
to participate. This is a common term
among job seekers, especially young
graduates.! The zeal and expectation of
getting the job is high, but what can you
do when you are not invited for the test?
This is why gatecratching takes place. Most
times, the candidate are qualified for the
test based on the requirements but they
wonder why they are not invited for the
test. Many have recorded success in this
adventure and even got the job but some
others are often disappointed, not even
given a chance to participate in the exercise.
To increase the success rate in
gatecratching, the following should be
considered.
(1) Study the history of the recruiting
company to know if gatecratching is
allowed.
Before you take this risk, ensure that the
company do consider gate crashers. There are
some firms that are very strict in their
recruitment exercise and don't allow such, so
it will be a total wastage trying that with
them.
(2) Prepare for the test
Haven determined to gatecratch, get the test
information from those invited and prepare
adequately. It will be very disappointing to
fail the test after the hurdles of gaining
access. You can make use of past questions
if any and the popular GMATS.
(3) Go with your certificates and required
documents.
The certificates both original and photocopies
are very important. It is needed to show
that you are qualified for the test. There
are cases where people are disallowed from
participating in the test because they did
not come with their original certificate. A
means of identification such as driver's
license is also needed.
(4) Present a good conduct at the test
venue. Remember you need the help of the
test officials, so do not go there to do ''
aluta'' ''aluta", this is not the campus where
you think everything is to be achieved
through protest. Humbly and politely
approach the organizers, showing them the
evidence of your application if any and your
prove of being qualified for the test and
plead to be given access to participate.
Good approach matters a lot.
(5) Ensure you submit your documents with
them.
Do not just write the test without
submitting the relevant document to the
examiners. This will contribute to your
chance of being invited for the next stage.
(6) Pray for God's favour
You are taking a risk and more than any
other person you need more of God's
favour. So, pray for success in your journey.

and risk taking, but ensure it is a calculated
