"Apparently, the new CAN President is just another tout like the old one. The comedian claimed that John Kerry's visit to the Sultan of Sokoto amounted to favouring Northern Nigeria and Muslims and that it is aimed at encouraging the "federal Government's prosecution of Nigeria Christians". This is not the renowned and notorious fornicator Femi Fani-Kayode talking, this is the President of the Christian Association of Nigeria talking. Sad but not surprising.
Sometimes I wonder how these caliber of bigoted alarmists ended up heading the umbrella body of Christians in Nigeria. It is shameful and appalling.
Only a fool or a bigot would accuse a US Secretary of State of siding with Muslims against Christians. The CAN President may talk like a fool, he is most definitely not a fool. He knows for a fact that US cannot support Muslims against Christians. The CAN President is doing what Christian leaders had always done since before independence - Blackmail.
They blackmailed the British and they have been blackmailing Muslims with allegation of wanting to Islamize Nigeria and forcefully convert Christians to Islam. Since independence, Muslims have been busy trying to convince Christians that there is no such agenda to forcefully convert them while the country was gradually Christianize by the same accusers. If you dare challenge them, they call you names and accuse you once again.
So today about 70% of federal civil servants are Christians. Two days every week is public holiday so Christians can go to church while none is given to Muslims. School calender is design to the convenience of Christians. Our judicial and educational systems are fashioned along that of the English people and has it roots in Christianity. School pupils, lawyers and nurses among others are made to dress in a manner that mirrors Christian cultures and these dress codes are being enforced on Muslims despite protest. Despite all these, they still accuse Muslims of wanting to "Islamise" Nigeria, while they are "christianising" it. They just cannot stand anything that appears to favour Muslims. They are jealous and petty and they cannot help themselves because of the disease in their hearts.
There desperation to maintain the status quo is why they will argue and insult the Sultan or anybody else for referring to Nigeria as a "multi-religious country" because that would put Muslims and Christians on the same footing. They prefer the term "secular" because to them a secular Nigeria protects their interest better even when secularism implies godlessness.
The clown who now wears the crown of President of CAN also accused the US President of supporting APC in the same breath that he used in accusing the US of supporting Muslims against Christians. Under Jonathan's rule, out of greed and hatred, CAN was unfortunately reduced to a campaign wing of PDP and the effect is part of what we see today.
One outstanding quality of Christian bigots is the foolishness of their words. To incite fellow Christians there is no amount of foolishness that they cannot vomit. How has Kerry's visit strengthen me, a Muslim, against my Christian neighbours? What has Kerry's visit to the Sultan and Northern Governors remove from Christians and Christianity in Nigeria?
In all these, Christianity is the victim. Historically, since the ascension of Christ, the religion has not been the same. Men with devilish agenda have held its leadership to ransom and its followers at their whims. Paul who never met Jesus Christ introduced strange doctrines that Jesus never taught. The Romans brought their idols and festivals. The Popes made it okay to kill and rape in the name of Christ that preached "love your neighbours" and "turn the other cheek". Then the West came and almost completely removed virtue and piety from Christianity.
The story is a sad one that gets darker every couple of years".
