Xraying the political history of Ekiti State, it is noteworthy that many Governors
have been coming and going with different backgrounds, educational
qualifications and virtues and each has made history either positively or
negatively. It is also noteworthy at this time that nobody has gotten to power
with the intention to fail but due to prevailing political and economic dynamics
at every material tenure, the perception varies. For instance while the elites will
rate some former Governors high, the masses perception of such may be
different and vice versa. From the foregoing, it is germane, if we are agitating
for change, to critically analyse the state of development in Ekiti State
presently viz-a-viz the delivery of economic and infrastructural goods, style of
governance and the current image of Ekiti as a state in the Federation. Nobody
will be left in doubt that the state requires a highly decorous governance that
can redeem the already battered image of the fountain of knowledge. In view
of the above assertion and taking a deep look into KOLE AJAYI'S profile, it is
clearly evident that this is the man Ekiti people want at this material time in
view of his sound educational background and social exposure and also as a
result of his cultural and natural closeness to the masses. KOLE AJAYI, by his
profile must have spent 70% of his life in Ekiti and it is also worthy of note
that as the Governorship Candidate of ACCORD party in the 2014 Governorship
election, KOLE AJAYI was the only candidate that ran his campaign in pure
and undiluted Ekiti dialect which has given him the nickname
"ABEREKOLOKUNLUDI " by the masses. It is our strong belief that NOW Ekiti
needs a Governor that can blend comfortably between the STREET and the
OFFICE. KOLE AJAYI has transcended the various sectors of Ekiti over the
years; in areas of Education, by being the National president UNAD Alumni and
Member, University of Ado Ekiti Governing Council.
In area of Governance Policy Making by being a member of Ekiti State
Government Advisory council. In areas of community development he was the
PRO Ado-Ekiti Progressive Union for about seven years. In areas of information
dissemination, he was the publisher of The Forum Newspapers that was then
the most popular local tabloid in the state. This is just to mention a few as his
profile has lucidly espoused his landmark achievements and activities. Lets all
