As a result of his elbow attack on West Ham’s Winston Reid in Sunday’s match, Manchester City striker Sergio Aguero could miss the derby against Manchester United next month if retrospective disciplinary action is taken against him.

Television replays showed that the incident happened as he challenged the West Ham defender for a long clearance. To the annoyance of the West Ham fans and bench, He was however not punished by referee Andre Marriner. The FA however still ban Aguero for games including the Sept. 10 clash at Old Trafford if investigations are carried out into the incident.

Manchester City Manager Pep Guardiola claims not to have seen the incidence and so cannot comment on the issue. He said he hoped there will be no serious issue made out of the incidence and added that the team will deal with it if the need arose.

The Football Association will await Marriner’s report before deciding whether to take action against Aguero.
